I would have guessed, that a 'nuclear_carrier' would be a carrier with nuclear propulsion. But the tech files have the following lines:

command = { type = nuclear_carrier which = flying_bomb }
command = { type = nuclear_carrier which = flying_rocket }

Concludingly in HOI 'nuclear_carrier' is used for vehicles that carry nukes.

But the ingame screen text says "Subs may now launch Nukes". This sounds rather unlogical to me, and I don't understad the connection with the command line. It seems to be a wrong text, and the command only makes the flying bomb able to carry nukes and has nothing to do with subs.

Also this text "Subs may now launch Nukes" occurs 3 times, with nuclear carrying flying bombs, with nuclear carrying flying rockets, and with 'Towed Submarine Containers'. That is at least 2 times too often. I guess this supports that the texts for the nuclear carrying flying rochet and bomb are wrong and that this text is only right for the container.

In CORE, the techs have been redesigned. There the nuclear carrying flying bomb and rocket techs have been moved to the nuclear techs. There it has been interpreted, that the nukes have to become lighter to be carried by flying bombs and rockets. Still the text "Subs may now launch Nukes" appears here. Also would nukes really be applied to flying bombs?

I didn not find the 'Towed Submarine Containers' in CORE. Has it been completely removed?

Nuclear-modified flying rocket was removed in HoI 1.03b and towed submarine container was removed in HoI 1.05. I don't think the missile_carrier command ever worked.
I'd say the 'subs may now launch nukes' is a bug in HoI's text.csv (TE_NUCLEAR_CARRIER). CORE should probably fix this since they modify text.csv already.

Does the nuclear modified flying bomb remain? If something would make sense, then it would be rockets carrying nukes. I thought that was the sense of ICBMs. In CORE 0.71 the techs for enabling bombs and rockets to carry nukes remained both, only moved to the nuclear branch. If the command doesn't work, then shouldn't both techs get removed? Also I think it questions the developement of advanced rockets.

I think it's only the 'missile_carrier' command that's broken (it would allow rockets to be launched from subs somehow). I assume 'nuclear_carrier' still works or C.O.R.E. (or HoI for that matter) wouldn't have included those techs. I'm not sure why Paradox removed one of the nuclear_carrier techs.

I think I mistook the the missile_carrier command with the nuclear_carrier command in your previous post. Now I understand. In CORE 0.71 both nuclear_carrier techs are in, for flying bombs and rockets. Only the missile_carrier tech for subs is out. IMO it should be repaired. Germany launching nuclear bomb carrying rockets against USA from subs at the US coast was more likely a thread than ICBMs.
