I keep hearing the term "BB" and I am curious to what it stands for and the meaning behind it. Also can anyone give me a quick lesson in what all the abbreviations stand for so I can better understand the greatly useful posts that the members of the forum place here.

Thanks for your help and patience.

BB is 'bad-boy.' It's a point scale the designates how...bad a boy you've been. Check your reputation in the diplomatic screen (rather bad, worse than dishonorable scum, etc).

You get points for DOW without CB (that's declaring war without casus belli), annexing countries, etc. Check kurtbrian's excellent guide on BB points in the FAQ forum.

High BB makes diplomacy more difficult, makes other countries more likely to attack you, and at the very hard difficulty level, can make 'BB wars' start, where EVERY single country that knows about you will attack you, whether or not they have any way of getting troops to you.

Check out the FAQ forum, there are answers to lots of questions there! :)

Other random abbreviations:

GC is the Grand Campaign scenario.
HRE stands for either Holy Roman Empire or Emperor, depending on the context.
DP stands for domestic policy, which are your sliders that modify different aspects of your nation.
CoT is a center of trade, where merchants can be sent.
RM is royal marriage, which is used in diplomacy to improve relations.
There are others, but those are the most frequently used.

There is a sticky thread somewhere that lists lots of them.
