what if Charles the Bold had won the League of the public weal ?
what if he didn't die before Nancy ?
what if René de Naples son didn't die in Catalonia and took the crown of Aragon ?
what if Charles VII instead of marrying Anne de Bretagne had kept flanders and married Marguerite de Bourgogne ?
what if he married Jeanne of Castille ?
Hi everyone !
So after a game with France, I felt a bit disappointed, like it didn't feel right.
indeed it seems that in order to make France perform worse than it did, they nerfed it.
France should not be easy. They start at a disavantage position with a very powerful Burgundy (which was also the most powerful member of the HRE, unlike in the game) several vassals that should not be annexable this easily and a country ravaged by the 100 years war.
By playing your cards right, you should be able to survive and even start in a favorable position to the domination of Europe.
Otherwise you might find yourself faced with a Burgundian kingdom going from the North sea to the mediterranean.
What France lack is not nerf, it was indeed a country able to hold itself against the low counties, Spain, Italy and Austria.
What it needs is flavor events.
Basically in the beginning France should be fighting for survival.
Well thought I do say that for France since I'm french but the spanish succession could get some more love :
should Castille enter in an union with Portugal or Aragon ?
should Charles de Navarre inherit Aragon or have the catalan civil war ?
well basically just to say please paradox give us some more events
anyway if I'm motivated enough I might write a few myself
