Mexico would have joined the south in a civil war, and they would have been joined by european nations who viewed the US as an agressor. Mexico would be recreated, and the South would become independent.

hmmm.....

Mexico was in political turmoil in the time so US dominion would continue in the western part... but the CSA would win independance for a while...

1856 civil war starts with england aiding the CSA
1867 it ends with the CSA and texas regainig independance with Taumpalipas, chiuhaha and New Texas (The mexican state of coahilla given to texas) Massachusetts ceded to Canada
1870- CSA backstabs texas and annexes it, after a long war, US buys massachusetts from canada
1876- Texan wars end with New Texas, Taumpalipas, texas and chuihaha added to the CSA
1880- revolts in the pacific area (including hawai) start
1890- The Western tates of America gain independance

If the USA had continued its Manifest Destiny ambition, perhaps the annexation of Mexico would have happened and probably continued to the whole of the Central and Southern American continent... imagine a huge landmass at the end of the 19th century, bi-lingual (English-Spanish) beeing realla the U.S.of A. (then "American" would really mean something logic). against such a large contry... no world wars.. but perhaps a soviet sydrome after a while... ... who knows.. interesting thought ...
