If by any chance Stellaris turns out to be bad we can always kidnap Wiz, put him in some basement with a computer and wait till it gets fixed.

I don't think its gonna be a financial flop. A flop in terms of whether it sucks is gonna depend (on the forum at least) on how good you are at setting your expectations. The streams should help with that.

Name them. How many games have dev diaries and live showcases of a game as much as Stellaris and have utterly flopped.

The only case I see that happening is if they did not take the constructive criticism given forth by the fan base. As one can see, Paradox has taken in the concerns of its future players and have changed some things to better it.

As was said before, we've seen how great it is on the Blorg streams, the only think that could make it flop on release are the bugs, but those eventually get fixed.

I think Stellaris will do well, if the reviews do well, and the gameplay is great and is supported in the long run I can see it doing better than EU4 and CK2 because a SCI FI game is more accessible than a historical strategy.

What if scenario. If Stellaris turns out to be awful how will you go on with your life? What's the next thing you'll look forward to? Is your life basically ruined if Stellaris is sucky?

For your own good I'll pretend I haven't read this. What you are suggesting could be considered treason. The sentence for treason is being confined to playing mobile games only for the rest of your life.
