I'm still waiting for my game, ordered it from play.com, hope it comes next week. In the meantime however it seems a friend of mine has bought it on steam and he gave me a look at Berlin.
One thing I noticed with the game is that it seems to run a bit slow. With the beta and demo I never had any performance problems yet here was my friend's computer, which is actually a bit higher spec than mine, acting somewhat stuttery with the game.
I'm wondering; what has the most impact upon performance? Any general tips to improve performance? Is it a RAM heavy game?
Could be I'm just being worried over nothing and for some strange reason my friend's computer just doesn't like the game and I will have no problems, but it does not hurt to be prepared.

Adjusting the graphic settings lower usually makes the game run smoother. Especially antialiasing and anisotropy set to low or turned off completely and bloom turned off will help the performance, though not knowing the specs of your PC this is a general tip :)

I hope you'll enjoy Cities in Motion!

Anisotropy filtering has nearly no impact on your performance. Even @ 16x there is just little performance needed (this counts for every game out there, not just CiM).

HDR, AF and shadows eat most of your performance. I recommend the following process for CiM (if your performance is ok just stop with the procedure and don't disable more settings because of quality loss) :

1) Reduce AA to 2x
2) Use the windows mouse cursor
3) Disable shadows (reducing them looks ugly -> better no shadows)
4) Disable AA
5) Disable HDR
6) Reduce your resolution (this should always be the last option)

Have fun!
