I really hate it when you loose your whole army like this. I built up an imressive army (to date) of 80 over the weekend that mainly consisted of elite troops including Rhodok Sergents, Swadian Knights and Hired Blades. Then the first thing I foolishly did yesterday was to decided to raid an enemy village. Since I knew the majority of their lords were on campaign the other side of the map I figured I'd get away with it. But lo and behold who comes to their aid but the enemy King himself with 230 troops. I did pretty well fighting and killing off most of them and I thought I got away with it. Also a lot of my elites were only injured so I was optimistic of a positive outcome after all....
...Unfortunately the last three enemy troops on the map took out my mount and I lost the battle shortly after that! Now I am on a rebuilding phase again, with a presonal vendetta against the Rhodok king.
I wish there was a way for the troops to come back to you like companions do, especially the elites that you spent a lot of time and money training. You'd think that they'll have at least some loyalty towards you!
Then there's no reason to ever surrender, right? Might as well fight every battle to the death.
I haven't found a reason to surrender yet. Even if it's 50 to 1, you might as well fight the battle to the bitter end and and kill a couple and get the experience. I have been successful a couple of times in leaving some troops behind and retreating. Hovever if your speed is slow, this option is a waste...
