What happens when a religion other than orthodoxy controls the pentarch?

What is the list of Orthodox heresies that can get their religious head? And what do you have to do to each to make that happen.

Oh, and one more: mending the Great Schism turns Catholicism into an Orthodox heresy.

And SamStarrett, in response to you, judging from the wording of your post I'ma go out on a limb and say...the Roman Catholic Church tried doing that?? If so that is awesome, and this has to be put into the game NOW

It is. If you capture Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch or Jerusalem, you can appoint a Catholic bishop there. Nothing special happens.

The same way you could, I'm sure, appoint a Shi'a Imam there if you were playing as a Shi'a realm. What I mean is if Catholics DO manage to do it there should be an event where they can use it as a springboard to declaring Orthodoxy a heresy and mending the Schism.

I know it may be double-standardish but I really don't see why it should make Orthodoxy "dissapear" like Catholicism does. Orthodox Christianity has a different system than Roman Catholicism does, and even if the Bishops fall (like what happened at the Council of Florence) the Priests, monks & laypeople can override the Bishops and can resist. In fact, after the Council of Florence, the Orthodox Christians ran the Bishops off when they returned to the East. The Bishops were either exiled or imprisoned, and many of them fled back and became Roman Catholic Bishops, Cardinals and Priests in the West.

So if the Roman Catholics took the sees of the five patriarchs, it wouldn't really matter much and most would remain in the Orthodox Church. The Orthodox Bishops would probably continue just away from their city as happened in the 14th Century when the Patriarch of Antioch moved from Antioch to Damascus due to the Ottoman Turks.

Also, I understand the current system, but there was a Patriarch of Alexandria and of Jerusalem already at the time, even though the Roman Empire didn't control those areas, so technically the only place that should be required to take by the Byzantine Empire would be Rome.
