What happened to patriarch authority?

I took a break for a while (since maybe March) and came back to the game recently, I'm currently playing a Georgia game since they look (and are) more possible now. But, in the entire game (it's about 1475) I haven't had a single event to raise or lower patriarch authority! I've been stuck at 0% the entire game, whereas when I used to play Byzantium I would get a patriarch event seemingly twice a year. What happened? Without patriarch authority Orthodox is pretty crap...

There was a thread about this. They lowered the frequency of the event but by a bit too much it seems.

Wiz did say he won't make the event rarity what it used to be, but I honestly think he needs to due to how underpowered Muscovy is now, it needs all the help it can get.

its super easy as Byzantium to get to 100 by 1500. your missions and events with Purple Pheonix will bestow more PA upon you than you can even use.

Yeah as Byz the events are very helpful.

You can get 20 PA from conquering Rome, another 20 from Antioch, and an additional 20 from Jerusalem. Also, you can get 10 PA from the mission to convert the Asia Minor Coast back to Orthodox.

Yeah Byzantium has events, but what about the poor non-roman orthodox countries out there. Not only Muscowy but any Russian minor would need those, Georgia/Circassia, Theodoro and Serbia/Bosnia/Wallachia/Moldavia even Albania are hurting from this. Not cool.

Wiz answered, but it will have to wait for 1.9:

They were intentionally made less common but I agree they're too rare now. Will be tweaked (though not back to the old level).

Nonsense. You get it easily during an average Byzantium run.

I just got it as Novgorod. Takes like 200 years though, so it's not a quick one. On the other hand, you only have to survive to get it, since it's not based on conquest or even prosperity. You'll pretty much always get it if you do a playthrough as any orthodox country (and you always select pro-authority choices in events).
