  • Crusader Kings III Available Now!

The realm rejoices as Paradox Interactive announces the launch of Crusader Kings III, the latest entry in the publisher’s grand strategy role-playing game franchise. Advisors may now jockey for positions of influence and adversaries should save their schemes for another day, because on this day Crusader Kings III can be purchased on Steam, the Paradox Store, and other major online retailers.

    Real Strategy Requires Cunning

This thread is more than 5 months old.

It is very likely that it does not need any further discussion and thus bumping it serves no purpose. If you feel it is necessary to make a new reply, you can still do so though.

The hookup search engine isn't there on 1.09/The Republic anymore that I can see. Also, I'm straining but can't find a tab for the "virtual castle" that can't be looted. ???

Check the bottom right hand corner.

Click on the image of your castle under the Republic tab.

At the risk of appearing mentally challenged, where would that be? Nothing on the game screen leaps out and says "Republic".

Also, how to you seize Trade Ports of other Doges, or does that take a DOW and not merely conquest taken during a defense of DOW? I had Venice DOW on Genoa, taking a single Genevese port in Ferrari; I mobilized and then systematically worked both sides of the Adriatic, taking one Venetian TP after another until I took down Venezia itself. The Venetian Doge whined for truce, offering some BS prestige points (I've got over 1,300 of 'em anyways, I don't need no stinkin' PPs) and a paltry 186 gold, after I've spent well over 200 mobilizing and marching. Are you going to tell me that's all I get for opening a can of whuppass on the Venetians? Why don't I get to keep the conquered TPs? Or do I have to take the cold codfish offering and start the whuppass process all over again? If that's the case, the CW engine needs adjusting badly.

Thanks. Found it right after my llast post.

On the DOW issue; it would appear that the old adage "do unto others before they do unto you" applies since if war is inevitable, or highly likely, the fruits of victory are far better being the aggressor.

You can't claim territory in a defensive war. All you get from forcing a surrender out of your opponent is reparations in gold. To claim territory, you must be fighting an offensive war that you declared yourself for the specific reason of taking a certain piece of territory and no more (Invasion CB notwithstanding). Only the aggressor in a conflict incurs a truce afterwards, however, so after you win on the defence you can immediately go on the offence if you have a valid claim (I mean you can declare consecutive wars anyway, but there's a relations hit if you're in a truce).

The "Republic" menu containing your Family Palace and the Election Fund is the rightmost button of the top bar, where "match dot com", as you call it, used to be. The icons around the minimap have been rearranged, and one of these is the new location of the character searcher. It's right next to the title searcher.
