What Happened Here ?

I was playing a normal game with german Reich (but with a mod for realistic provinces) and after I declared war on Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia because they flipped me off for territory this happened.

The Oster Conspiracy

Beliving that Hitler has pushed Germany into a war it cannot win, a group of senior officers within the Wehrmacht have launched a coup! It appears to have orchestrated by Colonel Hans Oster of the Abwehr, but Generals Beck, von Brauchitsch, Halder and Admiral Canaris have also been confirmed as involved!

Heavily-armed men lying in wait in several Berlin apartments have converged on the Reichskanzlei intent on liquidating Hitler and his closest associates. A fierce gun battle is currently raging inside the building

The Conspiracy Succeeds

The heavy fighting in the Reichskanzlei has reduced the building to a burning ruin. Despite a large number of SS soldiers rushing into Hitler's aid, army units loyal to the conspirators joined the fray and proved decisive. The Führer has been confirmed as killed, and the conspirators have successfully stormed all government buildings in Berlin.

A large portion of the Wehrmacht has gone over to the other side, but many officers are still NSDAP loyalists. Who should be leading them?

Heinrich Himmler becomes a leader for the Fascist party.
The Fascist supporters start a civil war
Politics will change:
Zentrum becomes the ruling party.
Public elections will not be held.

"Himmler will turn this around!"-Adolf Hitler dies.
Heinrich Himmler becomes a leader for the Fascist party.
The Democratic supporters start a civil war

"Göring is our only hope at this point"-Adolf Hitler dies.
Hermann Göring becomes a leader for the Fascist party.

Civil war starts, while you are at war with allies. I picked the second choice which you can see in the picture below (sorry for bad quality). I lost the war but my questing is will there be in future feature to assassinate enemy leaders or to support such secret internal coup (because I didn't get any notifications that civil war will break out) and can I trigger this somehow?

I don't think so. On the official wiki, there is an event that is similar to this. Maybe they updated it?

Yes happened to me few times in vanilla. If Germany is doing poorly, this can trigger. I think the conditions were some% close to capitulation, and Czechoslovakia, Poland did not capitulate.

This is the event reflecting the conspiracy ready to replace Hitler if the Allies had declared war when he pushed on Czechoslovakia and got Germany into a losing 2 front war.

I can confirm it's an unlikely event that can trigger if the Allies back up Czechoslovakia.

Sometimes it triggers and the coup fails, other times you get the civil war.

I'm wondering if anyone knows any other alt history events like that one? Other then Trotsky. Always found it odd that Franco leads Nationalist Spain when he was basically just a stand in.

Interesting. I guess in all the times I played Germany I just never did poorly enough (even when losing in MP) to have that event fire. My apologies for incorrectly inferring that this meant is was not part of vanilla.
