- Other stuff for minors.

I'd bet the best part of a yen the first major dlc will be called tora tora tora. The Pacific will be the marketing angle used to sell it, while most of its content will be small solid improvements based on what they've learned since launch.

I would like to see a mechanic added (I believe it wont exist for launch) where countries can specify formations as elite with higher training, and better quality recruits sent to the division giving the division different combat performance.

An example of this being SS divisions, which especially in the early ones were significantly more aggressive and better at taking objectives than Wehrmacht divisions, though with the draw back of significantly higher causality rates. Other examples of elite formations would be Gurkha's, 'Devil's' brigade, most Airborne units, etc.

The general idea here would be that when you create an 'elite' division you should be able to push their stats in a direction different than normal, but any direction you push them should have drawbacks. Ideally you should be able to push them in any direction you want, here are some examples of my thoughts:

- More aggression, better at attacking, high losses
- Tenacity, high organization/morale (which is its own drawback)
- More precise, better at working with battle plans, worse when used on the fly (penalty when not using a battle plan, bigger bonus when using one)
- All around elite (example Devil's Brigade) higher quality all around, reduced maximum unit size (harder to find fitting recruits)

Additionally to support this they should add a buttons for divisions such as priority for equipment and priority for reinforcement, so we can further set up our elite units.

It is inevitable that China will get a DLC of some kind. Of all the 'regional' powers on the map, it is somewhat bizarre that they are going to have the generic national focus tree. I can't imagine they are going to be too interesting to play in vanilla (no mods), which is a shame.

I think China should have been classed as one of the major powers, as they were during and after the war (i.e. UN seat, etc.).

They already have templates with higher experience units, to simulate the SS for Germany. With that information, it is moddable at the least.

Sprite packs / music dlc is all but guaranteed, but I'd prefer if they didn't exist and were just rolled out alongside more meaty DLCs instead.

As for DLC packs:
- "Minor nations" expansion providing national focuses / non-generic assets to most secondary powers.
- Sino-Japanese war pack focusing on China/Japan
- Possibly a DLC that overhauls some core mechanics later on like we always get. I'm thinking one that fleshes out politics, one that might expand and revise industry a little and so on.

Maybe a WW1 campaign / start? The forming of the 'Weimarer Republik' after WW1 in germany was one of the most important thinks in german history after all.

I'd be more inclined to a longer-run Paradox game that mixes some of the Vicky 2 concepts ( pops! ) with the more fleshed out combat of HoI covering the period from 1900 ( or thereabouts, you might pick 1905 to solidify Japan as a player ) to 1950/1960 or so ( up to the point of ICBMs becoming reasonably common ).

'Rule the Waves' DLC
Implement a ship designer configured for ships this would make you able to increase or decrease the following:
-Displacement, larger ships cost more and to a degree are tougher to sink, more displacement means you get to commit more displacement to the following categories, probably broken down by percent
-Armament, more hard and soft attack obviously
-Protection, more hard and soft defense obviously
-Speed, pretty self evident, faster ship but requires exponentially more displacement as speed goes up
-AA, depending on how ship vs planes mechanics work it would either provide a fixed defensive bonus vs planes, perhaps provide an org hit and raise attrition.

Aspects like radar would be used if the technology is present as I can't see someone not putting effective radar on their ships if they have the technology available.

Perhaps they can put in the Indian princely states in the game one day, as a DLC? Not all of India was under British control to be honest, a huge part of it remained under former Mughal and Maratha governors' dynasties.

And specifically because in both World Wars, princely states had their own armies and most of the time they sent their armies to the front independently and managed and fought independently.

For HoI it's hard to see what's missing until I see the game. There probably will be more national trees, but PD usually don't add something like that without new gameplay features.
Right now I'd like to see more personalized ministers and generals, with individual habits and ambitions. Like "Rommel was drunk during landing in Africa and fell of the ship" events, so you could go full "Neeeeein" over them.

I swear I saw screenshot with something like this already. Perhaps they could enhance it to tanks and other stuff, though combat mechanics will probably need a rework, so stats of individual brigades would be more important.

They already have templates with higher experience units, to simulate the SS for Germany. With that information, it is moddable at the least.

The SS are well known to have performed abysmally.
The support of the SS by the Fuhrer hamstrung the Wehrmacht.

The SS was not an elite guard or super-soldiers.
They were a political symbol with about as much tactical value.

I seriously doubt HOI4 is going to get as many DLC's as EUIV. Probably less than half.
The basegame won't sell as much because:
1) game is pretty complex (we might love it for this, but not most people)
2) will probably be released very close to Stellaris, which seems to be more popular already
