I understand that the randomized new world is DLC, and I think the Native American mechanics, but what about the new countries themselves, or the colonial nations?

Well, we're definitely going to have it spelled out for us right before launch, but I have some expectations.

Considering how much of a game-changer they are, I expect the colonial nations to be part of the free patch. Randomized New World, and probably the Native American mechanics will be locked. I would also expect us to have a way of playing the colonial nations, and that will probably be locked for non-CoP owners. The patch should also include a bunch of tweaks and bug fixes, as always. Just going on my CK2 experience, I could be entirely wrong. Either way, I'm buying it.

thanks for the quick response! yea, that does make sense.....I do plan on buying it, just when it's on a good sale later this year

it would be so much easier if they specifically told us from the get-go what was in the patch and what was in the expansion
