Interesting link. I'm no economist; does that equate to the Russian economy being really bad, or just that Steam is getting screwed over big-time in Russia? (although their customers aren't, obviously!)

I think it is an estimated value in order to maximize income. Our gamers may prefer to actually download game from torrent trackers instead of buying it in Steam if they feel game uncomfortably expensive. It is mentality due to not-so-far Soviet ideology saying "Rich = Bad".

A lot of distributors (such as EA) have near-to-regular prices on their games.
It is just Paradox thing.

;)

As far as I know our guys are leaders in game donations like cosmetic items in DoTA tho. Just a matter of preference :)

Almost all big PC publishers engage in regional price discrimination today, Bethesda, Blizzard, sega, SE, it just makes sense. Price a game too high, customers in Russia and China will choose piracy or just ignore the game altogether if denuvo is used. Also, the habit of paying for copyright is steadily rising in China, better encourage this behaviour to cultivate a Pay-to-play taste in the world's largest PC market.

What I don't understand well is the tanks pack : Is it only the 3d models corresponding to the 2D icons in the tank tech trees ? So if, and if I only buy the basic pre-order, I will have, say as France, my Somua S-35 in my tech tree, and what exactly on the strategic map ? A generic 3D tank of the era in spite of the fact I have Somua-S 35 produced ??

Can somebody explain to me what exactly do you get cheaper with SP if you buy it/pre-order?
Let me do the simple math here: Basic edition: 40 euros; Field Marshal edition: 90 euros
Field Marshal edition has theExpansion Pass which includes the first 2 expansion and it’s related content, to an estimated value of $49.99.

Let's say that average price of DLC (based on my knowledge of EU IV) is 20euro and cosmetic for 5euro.
It means that these 2 DLCs are both for 40 euros and the cosmetcis for like 10. = 50.

Basic edition (40) + DLCs (50) = 90 euros.

So it seems to me that the only thing that Field Marchal edition gives you are some cosmetics and forum icons, but you pay the same amount for the DLCs NOW as you would pay for them if you bought them later on.
On the stream though Dan has told that SP makes you to pay less than if you buy DLCs in the future.
However, based on my math there and by the Statement on Steam HOI IV page (estimated value of 2 DLCs = $49.99), it does not seem that anything is cheaper, therefore there would be no reason to pre-order the edition, only if you wanted the extra forum icons..
Can somebody make this clear for me? What is on this edition CHEAPER? How does this SP make you pay less?

(btw I am not writing this because I don't agree with these editions and such. Actually I like the idea of SP in HOI IV but I am very confused about its advantage)

Thanks in advance

Honestly, here is a simple way of looking at it. Do YOU personally want to support paradox to continue to make content for this game? Yes? Then spend the extra money IF it is viable for YOU. This is capitalism, nobody is going to force you to buy anything so only spend as much as you are willing. Also, you can just wait for the expansions or buy HoI4 FM Edition on GMG for cheaper.
