Okay so i don't get why Sol became important all of the sudden? Like, what exactly is there? Primitive humans? Conquered humans? A tomb world like we saw in one of the dev pictures? Will it suddenly create a massive chain of events in the galaxy or in your empire regarding humans if they are found or what?

Beyond "hairless space apes, or remnants thereof", we haven't the foggiest.

What, did you think this desire to head to an unremarkable yellow dwarf and its continental world was remotely rational?

It became important because a stream viewer saw it on the map.
And now, with a stream devoted to little more than showing things off in a vaguely random way, it is the golden egg of the laying goose to provide some meaning to an otherwise friendless universe.

We must go to Sol because of the canonized Blorg backstory:
herticalt said:
The Blorg were once a pre-FTL species they spent much of their time living alone or in small groups. One day they picked up radio transmissions from a star far away. What they heard shocked them, the sounds of friends, movies, culture, music things the Blorg had done without for eons. Before this the Blorg didn't even have names there was no need, who needs a name when there is no one to call it? So they took their names from the messages they heard along with the mission to look for their new friends among the starts with the hope that one day they might party together.

This explains the Human names and why the Blorg are so intent on getting to the Sol sector they're willing to go on a murderous Jihad to do so.

That's the whole point--WE MUST FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED!

As @ahhheygao mentioned, the Blorg we know and love exist because they came into contact with a human satellite (or whatever). The Solarians are their saviors, their very GOD FIRST FRIEND!

Why does an alien culture rule over Sol? Why are there no more transmissions? What if they are in danger?
The Blorg MUST find them! The Blorg MUST save them!

...

Also, that is the only way to see all seasons of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Any true Blorg does know! Any true friend should know! The lore of friendship.
At the dusk of the dark times when the Blorg did not know about friendship they started to listen to the Galaxy at large. For the longest time there was only a great silence but without any other purpose the Blorg were diligent. When suddenly they recived signals. It took the Blorg long to make sence of those. Many of the various languages remain a mystery to this day. But they learned. The most important thing they learned was about Friendship. The program "Friends" instantly became the most popular broadcast on Blorg but it was incomplete. Those signals came from a species called Humans from a planet called Earthfrom a system called Sol.
Sol was the drive that took the Blorg to space. Sol taught the Blorg what friends are. Sol is the dawn of the true Blorg! And any true friend, any true Blorg knows we must reach Sol!

Sol is important becouse:

1. Earth is holly place, there is Jerusalem there.
2. Earth is a place when milions attempts of planetary invasions have failed, probably becouse some jinx or antient curse. Or maybe becouse of having the most badass race in the galaxy with guys like John Sheppard, Serious Sam, Batman, Steven Seagal etc.
3. There's an Arc there! Just ask the Oracle!
