I think they simply do not trigger anymore. As far as I know, that's blocking the AGOT mod for being released for HL, since the dragon events do not work anymore and it's too important to have the mod without it.

That sucks about AGoT. Yeah, I've concluded that they just aren't happening anymore. Even after turning on notification events I don't see them, and I can't say that my assaulting armies' numbers are ever decreasing during a siege.... Except when I win and leave a small garrison.

After playing for a while with the settings changed I got this event

It is not related to sieges, but I had not seen that before, also it is the only one i've seen after playing a long while like this. so maybe this is visible now with the setting changed? But no siege events, even when they seem to be included on the files, it seems like they are either blocked or bugged.

I rather like these little things, they always added up to the game. I understand if they have to be pushed on the back for those that hate the constant pop-up, but don't just take it away or ignore it like that, maybe it is a bug since I was playing the same game in between patches.

mmm man, I really hope the fix up whatever makes them disappear...

When the ruler of a county is bankrupt some bad events happen with bandits and smugglers rings poping up which are negative modifiers to a county. When the ruler is no longer bankrupt you get those events to remove the modifiers. What must have happened is that you conquered a county whose ruler was bankrupt. If those rules are met those events are very common.

Honestly, I've noticed the lack of them as well, and I have default message settings. I don't seem to lose troops either. It's a bit weird. Also haven't seen Viking or anything else trigger on siege completion.

I think some changes to the message system changed the defaults, and unfortunately it's very hard to find the settings for it, lots of message settings with too few categories, and no search function like in EUIV.

The viking event i had last week, when i was hunting for a concubine to replace the incapable ruler of the Byzantine Empire.

Also characters killed in battle are almost non-existent

"You have killed 75 years old random useless bishop in battle" wasn't exactly the most relevant message type IMO.

I'm also glad siege events were moved; it's nice they happen but it's also nice I don't get notified that they happen...

Distantly Related quick question: Is there any way to mod back in the old 'trebuchet engine' soundfile for sieges. (For ironman). Clutching at straws, but these spot effects from CK1 were exceeding good, my friends. It'd be great to somehow get them back in.

Not a very practical approach for something that should be intuitive and discernible from a quick scan of options available. Randomly turning on options and crossing my fingers that it fixes that one thing I'm wondering about and hoping to see... when most likely resulting in a lot of things being turned on that I don't want to see... no, just no. I don't have that kind of free time on my hands where that would be worth it to me. And what's more, even with the community assistance nothing has been sorted out. Still no siege events in my game.

I'd much rather Paradox make the options clear... which was really the point I was hinting at with what I posted previously. I'm not trying reverse engineer game code or INI files for a mod or something. I'm just a guy playing the game -- what you suggest goes far beyond what folks playing the game should be expected to have to do.
