August 4th, 1471, Jerusalem
Prince Zalman V awoke early in the cool dew of the morning, as he had been doing for the past year. He was a tired king, tired already of his times upon the throne. Oh how he wanted to hunt again, how he did in his youth, to go out into the desert and ponder Yahwh’s great mysteries. Every night the ghost of his son haunted him, a diseased figure always in a mist. As he walked around the palace, still under construction since the time of his father, he mused upon a great and many things. He wondered if he would ever bare another child with his wife, and hoped that whoever ruled next would be better for this land.
In December of 1472, General Abraham died of pneumonia while on a training exercise. Zalman was deeply saddened at his passing, as he was truly the savior of the land.
In the late months of ’72, and the early months of ’73, Zalman had the temples of the Hindus and Zoroastrians in the former Nabtean lands to be removed, and the blessings of Zion given to those who lived there.
In July of 1473, General Goldman was also laid to rest. His cause of death was plague, as it rushed through the lands once more.
Then, in September, Persia, along with their allies from beyond the Indus, declared war upon Judea. Quickly, Zalman recruited new generals to rise to the occasion. The first was Eli Begin, a man from Jerusalem and a good friend of Zalman’s, a warrior beyond renowned. The second was Yossi Ben-Yousef, a promising officer from Acre.
General Eli’s first act was to quickly overcome the Persians who had begun assaulting Kirkuk. However, a stronger army of 31,000 persian troops crushed and routed them. Eli and the survivors escaped to the desert, and began recruiting a 32,000 man army to crush their feeble attempts to conquer the lands of Yahwh. In the south, things were going much smoother. Yossi’s forces quickly began conquering the colonies of the Hindus, and would soon come north to rout the Persian dogs from his lands.
Another miracle happened on the first of December of 1474: A new son. They named him Yigal, a Hebrew name for He Will Redeem.
And redeem he did, with a newfound confidence that Yahwh was on their side, Yossi’s forces captured the whole of the Kalingan holdings in Araby, and forced them to sign a peace treaty in which they received what they wanted: Their old lands back, and then some.
With that taken care of, Yossi and the forces that Eli mustered (Around some 21,000 able men, horses and cannons) met at Palmyra. With the two forces together, the Armies of Yahwh, of Abraham, Issac and Israel, and now of Zalman and his infant son Yigal, marched to Samarra, where the bulk of the Persian army was situated. The Hebrews rushed over the forces of the Zoroasters like a tide, crushing them to nothingness. It was all Persia needed to see to ask for a white peace.
The triumphant masses cheered as Zalman the Protector, who conquered the Hindus and beat back the Persians.
After the war, a wave of peace and reconstruction swept across the land, and religion of the Hebrews was quickly accepted by most of the lands now under Judea’s control.
With a new dawn in hand, Zalman was happy beyond belief. Yahwh smiled upon him and the nation of his children. And for once, Zalman was relieved.
