Hello Fellow Empire Rulers,

I´m sorry if this seems to be a stupid Question but I´m a bit lost here. What does the stat AC mean? (Next to the HP Stat). I just can´t figure it out (a block in the head?) and after a few hours of searching the net and finding it nowhere (it´s not even in the wiki) I´m a bit lost. So i would appreciate if someone could explain the meaning to me.

Hmmm... I was under the impression that the industry standard for the acronym, "AC" was that "AC" meant "armor class"...how much armor a character has.

...at least since ca. 1975 with the original Dungeons and Dragons rules (Gygax and Arneson).

"AC" for "Armor Class" could have an earlier use date.

I have two vest on and AC is zero for all characters. That is shown above HP in combat.

But it appears that "AC" does not stand for "Armor Class". Hmmm.

I agree. You are entirely right. But even with armor that has never changed from zero and the armor is applying per the orange ticks above character health.

Accuracy?

Could be accuracy.

Or perhaps "AC" is related to "Action ___ [something]" to describe the number of actions allowed.

Here's a bit of pondering...the Romeros are professional game designers who have been in the business of games for a few decades. They probably have a good reason to use an acronym that baffles some customers.

I'm sure when it is revealed what "AC" actually means, we'll slap our heads with the palms of our hands and exclaim,

"But of course! How come I didn't see that. "

Hold the phone folks. I just started my game back up after eating lunch. Something somewhere ticked on in the 0101010101s. AC is 100% how much armor you have. Is now showing correctly and matches my equipped armor.

Yea, I also saw where a Padded Vest initially gave 10 AC but a short time later it was zero so either it got damaged or it is a bug.
Exact same thing happened to me. I wound up selling it because I had better armor anyways. Next time I will test and see if it is still giving bonus.

I didn't notice anything getting broke. Then again I haven't even used that perk yet. Figured it was a "make them take one turn to fix it" deal.

Well, like I said one minute Padded Vest is 10 AC, a week later it's 0 AC so it could simply be a bug.

Items that get broken seem to stay that way. I used a break weapon ability on a boss and it worked... sorta. Then they shot me but after that they went to alternate weapon for rest of fight. When I looted at end I found the weapon and it was clearly marked 'Broken'. The black market will buy it, but it stays broken.

When something explicitly damages armour you see it along with the HP damage. However I suspect there's either some degradation with each hit, or else there's some passive damage somewhere (shotguns?)

Good to know. So it is permanent then. Interesting.

I have yet to see permanent armor damage. But I could have missed it. I have seen armor randomly set to zero. Next time I will equip the zero armor and see if it still provides benefits and is just a ui bug.
