My answer would be almost everything, here's a couple that I REALLY would like to have included in the statistics-ledger (there's one coming, right ?):

Numbers of Panzers/Ships/Planes produced/lost, preferably represented by strength-points, so that when you reinforce a unit by 25 strength points, that 25 makes it into the statistics.

Also, preferably split up according to models (i.e. Bf109e, Bf109k etc) so that one can see the most produced model of the conflict and such.

Also I would like to have information on the number of confirmed damage (strength points) done to the enemy, per nation

Number of battles won/lost, i.e. measured in provinces, air/naval engagements against each nation.

Number of ICs lost due to strat-bombing in a given period of time

Number of convoy-transports (BRTs) sunk by enemy/own shipping/airforce

Number of units out of supply, over a period of time

Total production of resources

Total conversion of resources

etc.

To my shame I must admit HOI is the only Paradox game that I own.
Would you care to elaborate what the EU2 thingy looks like ? I'm always willing to learn.

In Eu2 there are graphs like Naval, Army etc. You can see how much ships/men you had in every year of game. Eg: You start with 15ships in 1492 there was a war in 1500 you lost 5 ships so you have 10 then you built 10 new and you've got 20 ...... :)

Much quoted statistics in every war documentary ever made. :)

Exactly, that's why I want to have it. So that I can write a pseudo-war-economic AAR.

It's kind of bad in HoI 1 that you can know exactly what your opponent has when it comes to divisions. That really should be a mil.int. thing....

Certainly a Russian CinC would love to keep an armoured division or two hidden to surprise the Germans etc...

I would like (if possible at all) to be able to both filter the charts, and sort them by order. For example, select one nation and see what casualties they have taken/inflicted, what they produced etc.

I'm with the statistics freaks on this one.

I'd like to see everything in statistics. Everything!

Well, why not? All the variables that are kept in the save for a nation anyway might as well be accesible in the statistics, right? Possibly subject to concealment like the Fog Of War option HOI1 has.

The ability to display that many statistics will require a sort of drop down menu or something.

I think this idea wouldn't be too far outside the scope of the concept Paradox goes by since data are mostly open anyway. Let's save the use of an ascii browser and get all that info directly in the game, right?

I would like to see the most valueable officer, the one that was in the thick of it and was the most important in the effect on the war. Maybe add something like Area owned in Km at the end, Kill/loss ratio that sorta stuff all added on what they all ready said

Yeah! This sucked in HoI. Just check stats how many divisions enemy have, build some more. Then check another stat page to get overview about enemy's tech and you are *sure* that you're gonna win the battles. Even during cold war and U-2 spy plane, US did not know how many bombers USSR had.

Stats are great, but where is the FOG OF WAR???

Touché.

At least the option to have it hidden until after the game is crucial. It really should be included in the Fog of War option.

Not to mention I'd love a decent intelligence system... :]

Yup, the intelligence model in HoI was way too basic, you just had to research some radar and you could see everything perfectly. And you didn't even need those radar techs to know the enemy navy, army and airforce size (as previously stated). Too tired right now to think of a way to change this other than to include the ledger under the "fog of war"-rule though...
