Howdy great peeps,

For the past 2-3 months I've been creating 23 custom factions, based on the AI personalities list.
Each empire has a different name list, city, ship type/color, custom (leader) names & so on.

I meticulously created every faction to fit the entire 'aesthetic picture',
such as the flag & city, and so on, symbolizing the empire properly.

A few friends on Steam said I did a excellent job on them & that they fit the Stellaris 'lore',
so I decided to come here to see what you all think of them, so please let me know that! :)

By the way, if someone desires it - I can list the mods I used & upload these empires.

I'd switch that to communal and nomadic. Fast learners makes some sense as well as adaptive.
Well that is the whole idea of the Assembly! :)

I don't think so? Since I'm not listing any mods or so at the moment?

A society that recognizes that selfishness perpetuates negative cycles and stagnates potential? A society that has reasonably capable leaders who are morally acceptable? A society that establishes a plan for a better future and accomplishes that and more by holding political parties to a standard of being solution driven instead of agenda driven?

Instead we have to settle for petulant children as leaders and lose our potential to the selfish and incompetent. =(

That's not our fault, that's the elite's fault.
They control us governments & way of thinking for a very long time.

But, how do they actually perform, game wise?
Very diverse :)

A pretty cool idea! Well done!
Thanks! :D

I do wonder why this is automatically assumed about humans in a lot of 4x sci-fi games. We have yet to encounter another sentient species. For all we know the rest of the galaxy my be laughing at us because we are the galaxy's biggest dunces.

'specially if the as of yet unknown species that in many ways must exist in the galaxy averaged 50 years to do the same thing. With a sample size of precisely 1, it is not possible to say if that's fast, slow or average.

True, I do think we'd be more adaptive than normal though. We did settle every biome on our homeworld and with augmentation, genetic modification and habitat domes I think we could handle any world we'd come across. Just a question of whether it's worth the cost.

Which would be fine if the earth is a typical planet as regards biome diversity. If it turns out that earth is actually an incredibly monotonous 'russian plain' by galactic standards, well, then we don't come of as adaptable at all. By our experience, it is not likely. But once again, the sample size is too small to come to any worthwhile conclusions or assumptions.

Fair enough, I feel as though if we base our assumptions off evolution and energy efficiency humans are pretty efficient and adaptive, I think it was 66% energy efficiency? I'm not sure about that but humans are much better than our animal peers for that and can survive in almost any environment on Earth. I'd think we'd struggle with extremes like volcanic or arctic worlds of course which is why I wouldn't say Extremely Adaptive. Those that evolve from Extremophiles would have that trait.

But I definitely see us colonizing Savanna and Alpine worlds at least in the respectively close to our climate areas like near the poles or lowland equators. I think frontier hospitals could be upgraded further to represent more extreme measures to make a world habitable without changing it's climate as well. We have underwater habitats already and technology can account for many things just would be super expensive and time consuming to do.

Eh, to be honest, I'd be more impressed if you had written up a bit of lore for each of them instead of simply stating their AI personality in the description. That is the interesting part. I grant you that the flags and alien pictures fit together very well for the most part. The names of the factions aren't very spectacular, sounding like standard names of any other random species you encounter ingame. Also, too many humans.

Also I wonder what your friends meant with "Stellaris Lore", since you're not giving us any Lore.... also, Protoss.

Sorry if I sound too harsh, but I've seen many interesting factions in these forums before, with very well writtenand creative lore to them, so this is kind of underwhelming, to be perfectly honest.

"Sounding like standard names of any other random species you encounter ingame", that's what I meant 'lore' :p

And for bios, my personality type (INFP) is that of famous writers, so I could write nice biographies actually,
but I suffer from quite a few visual problems, and writing on that scale just bleeds my eyes :(

That`s a... well, sad perspective on lore.

Well... I hope you`re not too offended if I don`t take your word or self-diagnosed personality type for it. Personality type doesn`t infer competence, by the way.
Which doesn`t mean I don`t think you could come up with something interesting, it`s just that I reserve judgement until you show me something.

but I suffer from quite a few visual problems, and writing on that scale just bleeds my eyes :(C
Have you tried writing outside the game and simply copying your text afterwards?
