Who cares? Every reviewer to date is bought. I will buy the game even if they give it two waggling buttcheeks.

Numbers will always be subjective. and because of this so is metacritic scores. The scale just isnt calibrated. I prefer to look at things as Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down, like steam reviews... and stellaris is doing *very* well there.
Team HOI's goal is obviously to demolish (as our audio manager Björn would say) and get 80+ reviews from all!

I do not care what he scores Stellaris or any other game as for that matter. Stellaris sold over 200,000 in under 24 hours. If my math is correct (this is pre-coffee) then that was $8,000,000 in 24 hours. So who cares. Just hurry up and take my money for HOI4!
On his own analysis and opinion.
My point was the very large gap between his score and the users score. I don't mind if there is a difference, even a sizeable one, but very good is way apart from very bad.
Also if this gap is happening in many of his evaluations, what value they have for eventual players other than thinking that if he likes a game it must be bad, if he hates a game it should be good ?

When IGN gave Rome II an 8+ then they lost it, Rome II was broken, AI sucked, the campaign AI also sucked, capture the points on a battle map yes. Thats what IGN considers fun, i could not care less whet they give HOI4. Now i am not a big fan of space games but i will get my copy one day once it gets a bit cheaper, saving my money for HOI and new graphic card.

HOI4 is going to get much more good reviews just because this big fact: Months ago, HOI4 was at the point where Stellaris is now, but they decided to delay the game and polish more. They could have released it just like Stellaris team did. I dunno why or how did they convince the board but they did, and they are going to take their ambition reward with good reviews and sales.
Bash IGN all you like but Stellaris isnt a great game. It could be in a year but curently It is just not. And mainstream media like IGN would never patient for this kind.

Paradox should team with graphic cards sellers who could offer a rebate if you buy a game.
Sid Meiers star ships is apparently better then Stellaris... Seriously? How high were they when they came up with that?

He played it for 70-80 hours. Whatever you think of the review and the score, he certainly played it.

"they" aren't the same person. There is no person named "IGN" who reviews games. Dan Stapleton wrote a review of SM's Starships. Rowan Kaiser wrote a review of Stellaris.
Rowan Kaiser doesn't even work for IGN. He's a freelance writer.
I was referring to users, not to critics as I specifically said I knew official critics had an early access.
Ah. Well, the way you wrote the sentence starting with "I know official critics have an early access" and then following with "but I find that giving a score on release day is very quick to fully appreciate a game" implies that the critic hadn't had time to fully appreciate the game. Since you didn't mention "users" at all.

Should I explain you my reasoning more thoroughly ?
1- Giving a score on release day is very quick to fully appreciate a game.
2- Official critics have an early access.
3- So official critics potentially have the time to appreciate a game (if they do their job seriously).
4- Users don't have early access.
5- So users don't have the time to fully appreciate a game on realease day (other than first impressions).

It is simpley matter of taste. The guy in IGN didnt like it and not recommend to player like he and explain why. Most people like it and playing it. So no big deal.
What is IGN? Some sort of abbreviation? .....Interstellar Gaming Network maybe... Ah, I don't have time for riddles now, off to play some Stellaris-Mega-Fun.
