But do you really need to bother with countering when you can simply buff Tactical Withdrawal to max? It's not like SF is such a niche choice that it wouldn't be feasible.
That's a defender's tactics, not good for tank commander and not use when one attack. This tactics is very good but is available very late, need a good defender general equal enemy tank commander. In general, the tactics boost often go to an attack tactics (Breakthrough)

As others have said it before, not worth it.
Also with Prince of Terror, Collabs, and your few manpower boosting spirits, you get large amounts of manpower from owning the land anyways due to Chinese having stupidly high population to tap into.

At best it might be worth to puppet Sinkiang to act as a wall to block Indian invasion through Kashmir so you don't have to deal with zero supply mountain with zero infrastructure. as well as USSR's movements if you decide to attack Soviets later.

And what if you didn't prepare any collaboration government in advance?

Isn't there any use in creating a wall of puppets to work as a deterrent against the Allies and the Commies, narrowing down the frontline so that you can handle the fronts more easily and concentrate a bit more on the naval game?

I would also think about that doe to roleplay reasons. Would Japan really fullannex all of China in real life

Well AI Japan is coded to just take the coast and feed the rest to puppeted Nat China right. Releasing Sinkiang to block the Raj in the Himilayas might be useful, but honestly it's not that hard to just push them from that border and threaten Delhi yourself. Without collaboration, releasing Nat China might be your best bet in terms of industry and resource access (plus basically infinite puppet manpower).

And what if you didn't prepare any collaboration government in advance?

doesn't REALLY Matter. Collabs just make you have more manpower faster.

Isn't there any use in creating a wall of puppets to work as a deterrent against the Allies and the Commies, narrowing down the frontline so that you can handle the fronts more easily and concentrate a bit more on the naval game?

Well I said that Sinkiang does make a decent puppet just now. And I suppose Yunnan as well.

I would also think about that doe to roleplay reasons. Would Japan really fullannex all of China in real life

For roleplay reasons you would shatter China as much as possible to prevent a singular unified front forming against you a 2nd time. And in this case you would puppet most everything, only taking Guangxi and the coastline for yourself. And possibly puppet Tibet as well inbetween china and pacific war for the sake of RP.
