Hello guys,

I've had to downgrade my EUIV version to EUIV to 1.11.4 because I never found the time to relearn the game. I kept playing with the downgrade for years.
No I've quit playing CSGO and got a lot of time to learn every new feature.

My question now is what DLCs do you recommend and which are pretty neccessary.
I stumpled upon this video from this guy called Reman a while ago. He says the game is a bit broken with missing DLCs.

As of now I own every major DLC until 1.11

I'm gladly receiving your comments.
Thanks!

Base game + Art of War + Common Sense DLC is the minimum you want to have to play at the latest patch.

You can do without Common Sense if you only play in Europe.

So in theory you can play with the DLCs you have now to enjoy the game.

you don't need any dc for good eu4 experience

but, common sense combined with cossacks and maybe rights of man makes playing as a conquerer outside europe easier.

if you play exclusively in west europe, developing from common sense isn't needed. cossacks is mainly for granting provinces, but vassals have been borked for couple of patches. rights of man is nice for disinheriting if you play monarchies, and for some other things.

but in west europe, you don't need any of above.

my advice, wait for sale in black friday or christmas, and get common sense, cossacks, and maybe rights of man cheap.

You've got Art of War so you are good to go.
tbh you've got more than enough dlc already.

Common Sense is over rated/over hyped because of the Institutions mechanic introduced in 1.18 it's only essential for the devlopement mechanic if you are a min/max type of player.
It's a useful dlc but not just because it allows for development.

Just get stuck in and play before you buy anything extra and see how it feels on the present patch. Also nothing wrong with staying where you are either.

The only 2 that I would say you really need are Art of War and Common Sense. Cossacks, Rights of Man, and Mandate of Heaven make the game a whole lot better than it is without them, though.

I just bought the Extreme edition, AOW, COP and ED with the intention of playing as an Native American or Central African country. Is that a good choice or not?

You are also going to want common sense. You need the ability to spend monarch points on development to spawn institutions if you are going to play in those regions.

Ok, I wasn't sure of the need for that DLC less developed nations, I made sure to buy that DLC now.

Art of War and Common Sense (apparently this is necessary now for non-European nations... I never play there). If you wish to pay to win, Rights of Man is also a requirement. Queen consorts, disinheriting heirs, leadership traits, etc = Pay to win.

You do get extra features that make certain aspects of the game less annoying, but since the AI gets all of those same features, I don't quite see it as pay to win. In my last campaign, I got someone from my dynasty as Spain's heir, only to have them disinherit a couple of months later. That doesn't happen without Rights of Man. I actually see mandate of heaven's artillery barrage as something a little bit closer to pay to win, since it's a whole lot cheaper and the AI doesn't seem to use it as much as they should.

I seem to never inherit thrones anyways, so I guess that isn't an issue for me. I feel like though I always max out my royal marriages with my alliances, I must not know how to do it properly. I agree about Artillery barrage. For the measly 25 MIL points... the one category of mana there always seems to be enough of... you can speed up a war immensely. Thus saving manpower, ducats, and sometimes even the outcome of the war. I don't have Mandate of Heaven, however, as I have no interest in playing outside of Europe.
