What country will you start as?

I started EU3 with Holland, but that's not an option in 1444. So either Muscovy or the Ottomans for me.

Either Denmark or Scotland. Denmark because its the first country I really got a good game out of (in EU3), nearly colonized half of North America when I lost the save game :/. Scotland because I'm Scottish in real life, So I enjoy turning my home country into a global superpower

Scotland is fun, taking the two top provinces of England, the Norwegian islands and all of Ireland makes for a really cool looking nation and entity. I never like going further though, because then it loses the feeling of being Scotland.
Byzantine Empire - It's not everyday that you get to play as an empire at the brink of defeat.

3 if they improve naval traval maybe an auto embark feature if its quicker to go by sea (realistic) england

6 austria if the hre is borked in some way hate the way it works in eu3 it makes bohimia more powerful than poland france and england
7 ayuttaya or kmer empire hope they have some unification desions there this time and maybe some unpassable terrain in the north cutting off china apart from in dai nam
8 golden horde hopeing they have decent trade routes after all thats why genoe byzantium ottomans constantly fought over crimea (trade)

Ummm... France or Castille, depending if my mood when EU IV comes is about colonizing and creating a big empire or meddling with central europe politics.

I'll probably start with England or Portugal, maybe Castille. Then onto an Italian state of some description. I'll probably try out one of the sub-saharan or new-world countries to see how exactly they change. Possibly a German state too. Many game to play.
The Roman Empire still is there, huh. It will probably be much harder than EU3, but still alive.

yes but it will probably have no unique things like the pentarchy anymore as they can just say it is a very minor power
And yes, I guess if I was able to do fairly well with the knights (after many many failures) i will be able to do fairly well with the romans (after many many failures)
Well...it was, to be honest. Byzantium should always have been on Bar/Ashanti difficulty level, instead of the (almost) breeze it was in EU3.
