What country will you start as?

I want to play as Norway and form the Scandinavia, or at least control all the scandinavian provinces.
I want the devolpers to add Iceland into the game (if rebels accours)
I also want much more Heir suggestions/names in the game, Norway in Eu3 has to few, I know it is pretty hitorical but I want some more modern names maybe with a low chance of appearing but ah well.
And then maybe I move on to Russia or Germany if I want to bother them just for vassals in that case.

Edit: Also I read this but I don't know if it's true, but what I read was that Norway was the leader of the viking empire or whatever it's called, What I know for sure is that Norway had the last viking king and if this is somewhat true I want to restore that empire as well, To chose either one of the old Viking Empire or the Scandanavia.

Don't know if I'll buy this game if E. Europe is again made to resemble garbage, they were in EU3. Sorry, but I think the W. European bias of making Poland and Lithuania and Hungary and Novgorod the poorest nations, has made me reconsider supporting this series. And I'm one of the EU1 game buyers but I'm just kind of over the whole, all E. European countries have to be weaker than Bohemia, mentality.

Probably Austria, I always enjoy playing as them and recreating their sexy borders. I'll undoubtedly take out any anger I have at the moment on Burgundy and Byzantium (if it's still around). Actually, does Austria own the Spanish Netherlands at the start? I might conquer the rest and release the Netherlands as a vassal, if possible. Might try and do the same to Germany, get a vassal and feed them provinces until they can form Germany. Would be interesting to see if it'd work.

Nope. Burgundy is alive and kicking up to 1477.

Personally I find a start at a bit later when Austria-Burgundy is around before the Spanish Inheritance an intersting WI too.

I always start as Granada. Perhaps this time, as this is a NEW game, I will start as Lübeck or something like this, to test the HRE. Or I'll start as Georgia or Crimea, very interesting (between Ottomans and Russia, with first the Mongol. Very hard indeed).

I think it comes from the fact that Portugal is seen as a great country to learn the game on. It's fairly safe, has to keep just 1 nation (Castille) happy and then the player can do whatever he wants - colonize, trade, discover, conquer etc. I think the same can be said about England, and why it's the most popular choice - it's safe. You can do whatever you want on your island and participate in all the aspects of the game, without risking some nasty blob or AI coalition taking you out easily if you make some mistake. And keep in mind it's a topic about the 1st game. Many people will obviously use it to learn, rather than go WC with Kongo.

Sorry, there's no Romania TAG to form. It only formed in 1853, in the Vicky timeframe, not EU.
