Hungry Hungary is hungry for some Balkan and Soviet land!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who'll probably just stare at the map and different nations for half an hour.Anything I'd say would be a lie. I always spend the first few minutes of any new paradox game endlessly selecting different nations before I do anything. This is made worse by my aversion to historical gameplay that biases me towards minor nations.
If you're going to play as Spain, allow me to offer you a piece of advice... You're going to need to start earlier than 1936. Try 1933... You've got about as much industrial capacity as one of the Balkan minors, and your army is out of date... You'll have a hard time invading France or even Portugal. As for Gibraltar, it is very heavily fortified, and the British stockpile troops there. Your only chance would be to capture it quickly as soon as you declare war, using your entire army... Best of luckWell, the title says it all.
I'm going to play as Republican Spain in the 1936 start and turn the nation fascist. After I win the likely civil war, I'll advance in Portugal, and Gibraltar alongside my German & Italian allies. Hopefully I'll live through that, from there I'll probably try to help Germany during Barbarossa and send troops into the middle east. I'll probably do horribly and I'll be sabotaging factories to survive the British onslaught.
