People will hate me, but the "arcadiness". I am very excited for the simplifications they made for combat that hurt my head previously to instead add depth to the peace-time politics, wartime industry, and actual scientific innovation.

The National Focus system and having a non-insane naval warfare model. (I love Darkest Hour, but the sea battle system is crazy)
Besides buying/downloading it... I'd have to say that I'm excited about playing with the production/industrial build-up parts. I've exclaimed many "No, don't do that!" and "Wait, why did he do that?!?" during the WWWs, so I'm excited to get a chance to do it myself.
i love the improved naval and air theatres. i also love the new way divisions work. it is just so much more satisfying to assign 200 tanks to a division rather than building an ARM division that doesn't tell me how many tanks i have and how many i lost. Same for planes!

The first: Getting fired from my job for calling out sick, showing up late, leaving early and in general a huge drop off in my production. Thanks Paradox!
The second: Finally getting to read posts that have facts within them. Finally getting to read posts that have actual real game questions & answers.
The third: Modders! I can't wait to see all of the amazing things they are going to introduce. I've been paying close attention to when they post what they are going to do or are thinking about doing and man my jaw just drops sometimes.
I think this release is the most anticipated release I can remember since pong?

I look forward to controlling every tiny aspect of the German war-machine. Cutting the AI out of as much of the game as possible for my nation. I've played HoI games forever and never used the AI (which already struggles to resist me without my direct help) so I am quite upset that the game's goals seem to rest more with competent AI-babysitting rather than intense micro.
Oh well. According to developers, I'll just have to spend some time making the game right for me. If that means removing models and manually adding appropriate counters, or devolving the AI's pervasive involvement with my war-making, so be it. My role-playing needs total and direct control over every aspect of my games. Even the enemy AI needs to be molded and directed, regularly, for a believable and reliable reaction.
Can't wait to get my hands on this awesome template! I've always been a huge fan of vanilla HoI (except HoI3 which needs the TFH dlc), but this one looks like I'll need to make serious changes to get the product I would truly enjoy.

Despite my and other's incessant and picky demands. But I'm addicted to grand-strategies like this, so I'll take whatever you give!

The ahistorical mode. After playing HOI3 as almost every major and minor country, I've bored of knowing exactly what's coming and doing the best I can to prepare for it. Greater unpredictability should keep the game spicy for years to come.

Being able to play as Germany or Russia now that I don't need to micromanage the whole eastern front thanks to the battle planner as I am not good at microing(I know in Hoi III you could assign armies to AI control but it was not very efficient). On a related note I also look forward to a supply system that will be more transparent.
PS: speaking of AI control one thing I will really miss are the outrageous units requests by remotes theatres under AI control like east Africa theatre asking for multiple armored divisions, marines , paratroopers , transports , bombers and battleships XD

A Hearts of Iron game that I'm actually able to play without feeling like my brains are overheating. Hearts of Iron is the only strategy game I have ever played that was too complex to be fun. HoI4 looks like it has the right mix of complexity to fun, and I won't have to pour a bucket of ice water over my head to cool my brain down.
