What are you guys going to do when

Semper Fi comes out? Are you going to wait to see if it works first, or buy it and then find out. I ask because HOI3 was/is so damn buggy that I found it took away from the enjoyment of playing it.

I hope Semper Fi fixes it, so, what are you all going to do?

I have played HoI3 for about 3 games or so. I played HoI2, I would guess, about 200-300 games.

I will buy Semper Fi. I'd just like to get a golden platypus out of the deal for a pre-order.

The core of HoI3 is truly brilliant: I don't think that is a controversial thing to say. The execution has been short in various ways, but it looks to me like Semper Fi is going to create a good game. It won't be perfect, in the way that HoI2 is after 5 years of development, but I'm quite confident it will be fun to play.

I'll buy the expansion when the "complete" version comes out, because I only buy games on disk. It doesn't matter what state the expansion is in. I've already invested too much time, effort, and love into the game that I want the full experience even if it turns out to be a frustrating experience.

i find semper fi too expensive to buy it blindly, so I will at the very least wait until I read the forums and most likely until it is discounted

for me a good price for an expansion is around 10€, around 20€ is basically the price for half a game and expansions rarely have enough content in my opinion to be considered half a new game, although I admit that they usually increase the enjoyment of the old game by a lot

Anyway, I will buy SF as soon as I can. I'm enjoying HoI3, and I believe SF will add to my enjoyment. As simple as that.

Well, announcing publicly that you are planing to steal, and doing that on the forum of those you intent to steal from, should actually make you feel ashamed IMHO. I do see your point, though. I do also think, that from the SF-code, the pure bug-fixes should be extacted in order to provide a 1.5 patch for vanilla. That way, nobody would have to feel ashamed.

Saying tthat you don't want to buy Semper Fi for what ever reason is fine by me. It's your money and you can do what you want for it. Coming onto our forum and saying you are going to steal from us is not on. Now please give me one good reason why I shouldn't ban your arse for piracy?

Keen though I am on HOI3, and recognising its high aspirations, I'm going to be waiting and seeing. I'll be interested to see whether the current model of damage to support brigades is retained (a game-breaker for me) and how they've implemented the changes in supply.

I'm going to buy a new PC first, as HOI3 demo did not even wanted to start on my current PC...

I wanted to upgrade my HW already for HOI3, but its state forced me to wait for some more time. Now, SF finally seems to be THE game I expected.

So time to crack the piggybank.

Even if it's released early with bugs,I know down the line it will be fixed.

Pre-ordered. I actually prefere this method of buying the game before it is completed and never looked upon anymore, so my personal input can make its way into the finished version. We, as a community have enough imagination and creativity to offer such ideas that the devs wouldn't have thought of, and thus improve the final product.
