As far we know, we can still name mechs in the game. What do you guys plan on naming your specific chassis? For example, once I get my hands on the Backer Atlas, I'm going to name it Anvil of Crom after I slap jump jets on it.

Well, that will depend on the mechs and the pilots. Guess I'll be stealing ideas from David Drake's Hammer's Slammers series. A Firestarter will be called Flamefarter for sure. :)

Assuming the ability to name mechs is still an option. The ability to name mechwarriors was just cut. I'd likely name them 'Eric's Kintaro', 'Timothy's Wolverine' etc as a way of making up for a lost feature I was looking forward to.

Passive aggressive. I like that.

Ol' Limpy...the little Urbanmech that could..with a distinct dodgy set of leg actuators. Historical heroics takes its toll you know...

Probably really dumb names. The Gun Show, Sweet Rave Party, Unseen Missile Massacre, Dumpster Fire (for the Urbie with a flamer), The LoveRM Boat, things like that.

I’ve only thought so far of the starter lance with future names based on Mech and history of it.

Blackjack-Long Shot
Shadow Hawk-Matilda

I name my 'Mechs with abbreviations for the weapons mods I've made, so a CN9-A might become a CN9-A5-15 (which downgrades the AC/10 to a /5, and upgrades the LRM10 to a 15), or a CN9-L5S6, with replaces both MLs with one LL, swaps the ACs again, and replaces the LRM10 with an SRM6.
This isn't dramatic like naming it the "sword of righteous fury," but it lets me know at a glance which 'Mech is which on the battlefield.

Well, my pilot's mech will be the Zeus, but the rest of the lance I aim to use...

"Der Fuhrer" Zeus
"Shadow Sniper" Dragon
"Ankle Biter" Griffin
Dont actually have a name for the Centurion...

The character I'm running for my first playthrough gained his callsign "Pirate" from successfully raiding a number of supply convoys for supplies earlier in his life.
His signature 'mech, a Shadow Hawk 2H, follows that theme and is called the "Privateer".

I haven't decided what to name any other 'mechs just yet but, I'm thinking whatever MechWarrior I initially pair up with a 'mech, I'll name that 'mech in relation to what that character would likely name it. I think that will probably be rather fun.
