G'day Folks,

Anyone know what the rules are regarding who gets what in a Federation total war against a Fanatical Purifier?

Based on a previous experience and replies in a different thread, I thought the president of the federation was awarded all territories. This game, I'm president, but one of the other empires is getting all the territories we conquer.

The rules are rather wonky, there is a concepts of "main attacker" and "main defender" in war. This is the initiator empire and initial target empire of the war. They get to set war goals like enforcing claims or humiliating. In case of targeting a purifier a special kind of war happens - "total war" where occupied systems immediately switch ownership after occupation. Ownership goes to "main attacker" of the federation for some reason, even though non federated empires get occupied worlds correctly. You may try to submit a bug report, but this rarely get you any feedback or does anything at all as long as the game is not crashing :)

I haven't tried it personally, but i would think that occupation/ownership of systems in a total war goes to the occupier. Though the poster before me seems to have experience otherwise.

In normal conquest wars, systems are awarded to whomever on the winning side has the highest amount of claims, or the occupying side in the event of a status quo with claims.
