They used to have a bonus with mineral production. Now they don't. They are also assembled slower than before, and you can't stop their assembling if you don't have any more mining/farming jobs, resulting in useless overcrowding. Beside slightly speeding your pop growth, what's the point of playing with robot at all?

They use less housing and no amenities. They added a stop assembly with the latest beta patch

Also, you can just resettle the unemployed robots to other worlds. I basically have only 2 planets with robot assembly. About once every 6 months I do a "planet review", which is where I scroll down the sectors list, click every planet with a red "unemployment" icon, order a building/district, or shuffle some pops. This usually means exporting 2-3 robot pops from one of my factory worlds to one of my newer worlds with an abundance of open jobs.

Disable the robot factory building. It'll stop growth and you can give that pop something new to do. I think the new update also has

Pop growth is huge in this new update. It's probably the most important thing in the game to maximize.

true. I even considered making my species both rapid breaders and nomadic in the last game :)

Beside slightly speeding your pop growth, what's the point of playing with robot at all?

Robot assembly happens in parallel to pop growth, so even though the robots are growing more slowly, the net population gain is significant because you are producing two pops simultaneously.

For empires that have robots and also allow resettlement, you can shuffle some robots to new colonies to quickly upgrade the initial shelter and escape the horrendous -50% to pop growth malus. So in using robots, you are also accelerating the growth of organic pops.

If you get Droids and mod them to have Domestic Protocols those unemployed robots will turn into servants and provide a ton of amenities
