They should really have fixed this issue by now :/
For the time being, it is not worth it to risk to duel, even with blind people, since the Personal Combat capability of a character is not weighted heavily enough in the calculation of the results.
That really breaks the fantasy when your Brillant Strategist, Strong and Genius of a character, whose very existence is built up for war and prowess, gets beaten up by some random guy with a negative Personal Combat in a just fight.

Well, 1 out of 3, being a genius and a brilliant strategist should not factor on your personal combat, this is not naruto.
But yes, I agree, even when I really enjoy the oddness of a badass being defeated by a blind man. the ultimate underdog tale, as long as it does not happen all the time.

Seriously, that is hilarious. RNGesus was with him I suppose. This sort of thing is what makes the game entertaining without fail. The stories it tells all by itself.

Does personal combat skill even affect Holmgang? (As opposed to war focus duels?) I seem to lose most Holmgang attempts even when I'm a few points ahead.
Also, ouch OP. I love having siege leader as a Germanic, losing such a rare character that way sucks.
It seems to have an effect, at least I'm given my victory chances as a mouseover when I click the event button (they were "great" for this particular encounter, btw; which is why I was curious just how badly did RNGesus eff me...
Anyway, I'm sort of glad there is a bit of randomness, as this was hilarious.

People may have opinions about whether or not genius should affect personal combat, but the bump from brilliant strategist is the same as from any of the martial educations: if you've been trained for war, you probably know how to fight.
I agree, though, that personal skill should be rated more heavily in duels. Right now it's too much of a crapshoot.
