Depends on your Ideas and Army Tradition. Or an event can do it too. Irregardless, you are lucky to get generals like that.
Is the unlikely part the quality of the generals or the fact that they both have the same name?
Everytime you open a new session it seems like you get the same name but if you continue playing and create another or use the die it won’t always be the same.
I've observed a similar trend. However, if the OP wasn't aware of it, then two generals with the same name could have been interpreted as rare.
Something is definitely odd with leader name generation at the moment. Pretty sure I had even more at some point.
Ahhh I didn’t even look at the names. But with the ability to name generals now I don’t think that is particularly odd (though, as you said, OP could have just not known). I’m guessing the same names is a bug that came with making your generals
I find for a lot of countries, including majors, I repeatedly get the same handful of names for my generals.
Yea was discussing the fact they both had the same name I thought it was in the same session too. I would be interested to see how big the name pool is? I am assuming it is culture based?
The first leader created in a session does indeed always seem to have the same name. Apart from that the lengt of the name list is an important factor in the chances of the same names coming up. Although I suspect Russia to have a decent size name list, as it's an important country during the time frame.
