I played as Guangxi and had taken all of Yunnan via raiding and went down the British path after proclaiming a rival government. Neither decision revealed a benefit that you'd get if you took them.
as China, you get off map mil factories, as long as the Raj/french and you share that border. if Siam goes and takes that area, or japan/whatever, then the road gets cut off.
Though, Siam can take decisions to reopen the road, but you get nothing other than nice feelings of Siam not messing with your supply route even though they removed the base that sent you stuff.
Also if you take the Burma Road focus there is a decision that will increase the infrastructure in a few provinces for 25 PP and I believe like 60 or 90 days.
