I'm familiar with LR mostly as it relates to colonization of low-LR provinces in comparison with my "min LR". But I'm wondering what advantages the higher LR provinces have. From reading threads around here, I get the impression it somehow helps natural population growth. In my own testing I've discovered it also plays a factor in where foreign immigrants choose to go. But I'm wondering if people know more of how the mechanics of it work and what all of the effects of LR are.

It most definitely helps with growth rate the best comparison is Germany to its surroundings it has higher life rating the average province in Europe and as such enjoys high pop growth.

Yeah, since I'm playing POPs of Darkness mod, I was thinking of using the Attract Immigration NF a lot, which has both international and interstate migration bonuses. The immigration bonus helps me capture a greater share of immigration (particularly prior to USA getting big bonuses from the Homestead Act and Statue of Liberty) and the migration bonus will draw POPs to States that have the highest natural population growth rate. As it happens, there are six States in the USA with LR's above 35, plus one in Canada (that I'll be annexing)... eventually seven NF's for seven big population centers.
