Sorry for asking such a basic question about War Exhaustion, but a search didn't turn up any sort of comprehensive discussion, and there's nothing in the wiki.
1) Is War Exhaustion caused directly by Warscore, or is it just that WS and WE have many causal factors in common?
2) Does any sort of attrition cause WE? Does it have to be in enemy-owned territory during a war? If I park 100k troops on a low-support-limit province of mine and they suffer massive attrition, does it affect WE, and does it matter if it is during peacetime vs. wartime? In other words, do my POPs get angry anytime their soldiers die for any reason, or only if they are killed in a war by the enemy?
3) Does losing battles to rebels cause WE? Does it matter if I'm at war or at peace? I seem to recall as USA, while I was at peace I sent troops to USCA to put down their rebels, lost battles, and did not remember seeing higher WE, but I'm not certain.
4) I know blockades increase Warscore based on the value of blockaded ports vs. the total value of their ports (i.e. Belgium is easy to blockade, but good luck blockading UK), but how is it calculated for War Exhaustion?
5) When it comes to combat losses, is WE a function of the WS value of a lost battle, or the number of my casualties regardless of whether the battle was won or lost? If it is the number of casualties, is it an absolute or relative calculation -- in other words, does 50k casualties in a war between UK and Qing have the same effect as 50k casualties in a war between Parma and Modena?
6) Does Ticking War Score cause War Exhaustion? In other words, if I go to war to Liberate Rupert's Land (100 Warscore value) and control all of it without having to engage the UK's armies in battle, does the TWS drive up their WE?
7) Do naval battles cause War Exhaustion? Again, do I have to lose the battle, or is it just a function of how many ships were lost in the battle?
