Playing as the Ottomans, I've completely occupied all the Timurid provinces, have a war score of 99%.
When I "sue for peace", how can I get a couple of provinces out of them? Seems all I can do is
demand tribute (a measly 0.3 ducats/month) or gain 5 prestige points. The icons for them ceding
provinces or releasing nations etc don't respond at all. Sooo, am I missing something here?
Thanks for any replies.

Which EU3 game are you playing? In Divine Wind & Htth most of the nomads can't cede land. You have to colonize it out from under them while you control it during a war. Don't remember off the top of my head if The Timurid were nomads or not but that could be it.

Instead of getting provinces in peace deals with Hordes you actually need to gain control of the province then send settlers there to civilize the province which will make it defect to you when your settlers hit 1000. I THINK you get 200 settlers per colonist sent. Works just like sending colonists to empty provinces except you have to take the province first before you can send them.

With nomads you have exactly these two choices:
- go to war every 5 years and take the prestige everytime when peace is made.
- stay at war, keep one or more provinces occupied and send colonists to make them yours.

When doing the latter, I prefer to colonise one or max two provinces at a time, because the colonist generation is usually quite slow, and it is nice to be at peace at some time.

And just so you'll know how to do it--because the first time I tried to colonize a horde province I couldn't figure it out--look on the province screen at where the missionary button usually is. There will be a colonist button there instead if it is an occupied horde province.
