While I read about the features in Victoria I stumbled across the following army description: Troop types are Militia, Colonial Troops, Regular Infantry, Elite Guards, and Cavalry.

Well, this is all good - but since the game runs to 1920 (and therefore includes The Great War, WW1), aren't we missing anything? Tanks maybe? I'm not exactly an expert on WW1, but as I understand it tanks was an important factor in the allies victory...

Btw,am I the only one who dislikes the title being just 1 word? How can we find a short name for it like EU2 and HoI? I just don't think 'Vic' would cut it...:D

Where they really not that essential?:confused:
I once read in a book that - roughly - WW1 was a trench war because the defence had grown stronger than the attack, and when the British invented the tank the attack was once again the stronger part.

Oh well, it's late in the game so it won't be of the most importance - but still...

With or without tanks didn't make a difference just like gas didn't make a difference. The Allies had enough manpower to defeat Germany after the US joined in. More important fresh manpower.

Brigades will work for me. I would assume tanks would provide a nice offensive punch.

What about stormtroopers? From my understanding, by 1918 Germany had pretty much solved the trench warfare defenses problems using storm troopers tactics, they just ran out of dudes. Wonder if that will be implemented?

This is not completely accurate, the tanks were a great force multiplier when used properly. Unfortunately this only happened once, namely at Cambrai. But they were never the decisive war-winning arm, as in WWII, so brigades should be fair enough; and maybe the first few 'tank' technologies should be quite ineffective to represent doctrinal difficulties.

in HoI we have cooperation between planes and subs merged with the subs abilities.
the idea can be used for the recognition role of the planes, and something similar can be done for the air denial role. don't ask me about the zeppelins over london ok?

most important: i would like to buy a product with a strong focus.
if you put inside too much things about '900 tech, it risks to prevail on the "nations raising" focus i'd like to see.
(german and italian unifications, nationalism and the like).

I would hope the tech tree spills a bit beyond the game's timeframe like it did in HOI, so that the very beginnings of both real tank and air doctrines could be researched and put to use if a person goes down the research path that far.
