Hi everyone !

First I want to say that, as a huge fan of the Wargame series and RUSE, I'm very impatient to see what this game will afford. Actually, it's been a long time since I wans't so hype !
However I don't want to enjoy myself too much because I'm affraid to be a little bit disppointed when the game will come out. Indeed if I'm expecting too many things from this master piece, I can be too harsh with it.

But, let's return to the main topic.

I have some questions about the air combat that I was asking myself :

I/ Does the plane will have health bar ?
II/ Does the evac order will be the same dunctionnality that in Wargame AB / RD ? I mean the plane will disappear in the skies ? Because remember that's WW2 planes, they were'nt as powerful as nowasays jets !
III/ How will the distance will be manage ? Canons / MG / Turrets will be as efficient as it was in real life ?

I have so many interrogations aha I think it could be a good debate

As far as we can tell, planes work basically the same as in Wargame. You call them in from off map, they drop their payload or do whatever they do, and then must evac off map to refuel and rearm before they're available to call in again. I've also heard that light machine guns on tanks and vehicles (maybe also infantry?) can shoot at planes overheard. But that hasn't been confirmed yet.

They have said units won't have health bars. I assume that extends to planes.

Yeah but how can it works ? We know that there are multiple factors in air combat and multiple weakness points in a plane, I'm wondering how much it will be realistic.

That will be great if MG on top of tanks actually fire on planes cause at the they were made for that on some tanks

RNG - Random-Number-Generator.
Correctly done it catches the imponderables of war better than most other systems.

i assume it would be harder to intercept planes considering we dont have long range guided missiles. which leads me to believe that AA will always be a first choice.

I think AA will entirely be part of the strategy to push forward. I was considering the fact that they said there will be no more fuel for vehicules, how will it affect planes ?

If air combat is anything like in Wargame, fighter planes are going to need a lot of fuel. Without guided missiles, they're going to have to be on CAP to catch anything before it evacs.

Hm, will be interesting, how to intercept properly, while all the fighting will indeed be in close quarters.

I'm still a little worried, that no health bars = RNG god is the true master of victory.
I suspect that vehicles will have some kind of hidden health bar and you just have to gauge it for yourself based on how the unit looks. I'd be terrified of a CoH Blitzkrieg mod-style system where tanks are essentially always at 100% health until a shot penetrates and they instantly die.

How does this "RNG" work?
RNG stands for "random number generator". Every random-chance function on a computer essentially relies on a hidden dice roll. He's concerned that without HP bars, killing enemies will rely on RNG awarding you a critical hit, and whoever gets lucky first wins.

Nah, I think speeds will be finally fitting.
A plane will pretty much rush over the map and showing "realistic" speeds.

There's no way to correctly do RNG. RNG is a (poor) substitute for factors you can't be bothered to model and the less of it in my games the better. Though I recognise it's necessity in some areas if you want to make a realistic feeling game because obviously you can't model all factors.
