Westernization

I am wondering... I am playing as Huron (American Tribe), I was wondering why at Naval tech 25 I am unable to build naval vessels?

Native Americans can not build any ships unless they Westernise.

I am trying to read up on westernizing... I pretty much just become as centralized and innovative 100% and then let everything else take hold right?

also it is the "westernization" modified trigger I am waiting for right? event 4002? this is what I will be trying everything to get triggered to become westernized correct?

I would imagine at Naval 25 you have westernised (surely) - do you have a coastal province with a core?

Reading up on westernising and playing as a native American - well it's old and for In Nomine rather than Divine Wind so some of the detail has changed but you might just want to take a look at the Iroquois AAR in my signature block - it has it's moments

Sowie... I cheated at the start and was amassing tech fast however I stopped because it ruined the game so I reversed the growth and westernized properly and then Brittany and Spain tried to get naughty so I had to spank them. Thank you a lot for your help though today I realized how to westernize and I oddly didn't find the joy in cheating as part of my game was heavily on staying weaker than my EU neighbors lol... very belittling
