I managed to try out westernization as Ottoman in the Demo, however I encountered something unexpected while doing it. Although westernization supposed to wipe out all your monarch points, it did not set to 0 for me, it set to -100 or -99 instead. Not too sure if its intended or bug. All in all, I enjoyed the game very much.

It might be a planned demo bug, but it's not possible, beacuse in 30 years from 1492 you couldn't anyway westernize even if you wish (you should be 8 techs below west. Europe). Anyway I was the Ottomans too and I think that they are the best in the demo to play!

Tried it too and posted my thoughts somewhere yesterday I think. Don´t know if -100 is deliberate (you can´t go lower). Other than that it seemed normal to me - it was as they told in the DD (or somewhere).
-100 is probably a smart move to ensure you don't just spend all your MP before Westernization to dodge the "wipe all MPs" effect. With going to -100, you cannot dodge the effect.
I couldn´t dodge it anyway. With admin, you have only few hundreds of points, diplo and mil were at max. You can´t buy tech when you want to westernize.

In one of my demo games, I can't remember which, might have been Venice or Austria, I somehow dropped to -4 diplomatic power per turn, it totally fucked up my game, and I had no idea what triggered it.
Too many relations with other nations. Every nation you have some sort of deal with counts towards your relations cap - it is something like 4 - and for every nation over it you get -1 diplo power.
