1. Westernization is 99% a good thing, despite the fact that technological progress lead to tons of unrest and issues time and time again. Westernization should be a challenge beyond forcing institutions and having enough gold. Japan and China closed off their countries to outside influence which meant they didn't develop technologically, but enjoyed great stability internally. I think it would great if this was reflected in the game better. Adapting new institutions could give some bad modifiers that slowly decrease, how strong they are initually are also determined by how early you adopt them. This could also make western gameplay more interesting.

2. For some reason almost all non-western governments have huge issues and you almost always want to become a kingdom or republic. I'm not saying I want hordes to be stable, but at least also show how kingdoms and republics suck. Because you can disinherit shit heirs as a kingdom its too easy to always have great rulers, in the real world horrible kings ruined empires. I feel like non western government forms are often too weak compared to the western counterparts.

Since the devs decided many years ago to make it fun to play non-european countries I hope they take my feedback :)

AD1. Mechanism of institution can be also more dynamic. We can image situation when nation have institution X, but because "something" this institution is losing. Eg. early post-tribal society have retribalization and lose institution of feudalism.
