He's said in the past it will be very close to vanilla, if not far ahead of vanilla province count. You should be good brother.

Soooo, about that province count. Definitely have more than was planned. It runs okay right now despite the high count, and I am heavily focusing on event optimizing. I also have it set up so that I could easily remove vanilla baron tier titles (there are 7 per province) - I am willing to go to 5 per province. Right now province count will be approaching 2200. Now, for those with less computers I also happen to have it easily set up so that I can cut out regions (like Africa, Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia - this is that surprise I mentioned). That will remove about 300 provinces give or take.
I don't think it runs any slower than it has in the past to be honest.

Arg, that's a bit too much for my laptop (province count was one of the reasons I kept this thread watched). But I hope you'll all have fun with it!
true true, idk if my mac will be able to handle it as well but we will just have to wait and see, like he said he can easily cut out the surprises he mentioned that make the province count go over, or he can just make two version 1 with and without the surprise he mentioned which is what i would do.
Just out of curiosity I'm asking this, I don't really mind either way if there is or isn't but do you have events/decisions that set up the burgundian succession war?
As far as it runs as fast as HIP with all modules, my computer will be able to run it (I hope).
The "removal or regions" will be available as sub-mods, or does it mean that we will need to mod them out ourselves? I certainly didn't expected the hungarian surprise (one would think that the carpatian region at the period would belong to a setting focused on Eastern rather than Western Europe).

Well, let's see how it goes.
Croatia, almost all of bosnia, and maybe 33-40% of Hungary itself.
I would upload them as sub mods, and I wouldn't be opposed to doing custom requests. For example, cutting out Scandinavia (just Sweden and Norway combined) is around 300 provinces IIRC. So there are definitely options for people. It is really easy to do with the map filing tool.
Is it the Charles the Bold one?
As per above, I would do sub mods for you guys.
I felt compelled to do the area, specifically Croatia and Bosnia, because of their interaction on the coast. And Considering Hungary and Croatia were held in personal union I just figured if I added Hungary the power level would go up enough for them to sustain themselves in game - and I can always remove it if I don't like it, but I think it is worth a go.

Yes. The capital just barely fit on the map if you want to use that to see how much.
Yep, we were discussing a little while ago how we could probably just fit on Pannonia properly if we wanted to. Just enough to make Hungary viable.
Well that's good. I won't play in Hungary or Croatia but I like that it's there. Bigger pool so I can make sure my CK 2 eugenics program works. 19 generations of genius King Charles/Queen Charlotte here I come.

A possibility for the distant future, of which I'm not making any promises. The potential is there, though, as mjohnson has demonstrated.
I don't know if I would call it unique, but they are very relevant. Venice was in a power struggle with them for the Dalmatian coast and at this point an Anjou was on the collective throne of Hungary/Croatia and apparently he made Hungary the biggest producer of gold in Europe - which with the economy system is fairly interesting. He also seems to have started an interesting way of managing vassals by making the upper nobility life appointments only, which I think I can represent and make it a unique area to start in.
Honestly that's awesome news, was hoping you would include those regions later on as maybe a update. Speaking of later on though, would you consider down the road including more regions, if of course you had the time and were willing?
I would not add anything else to the map. The province count will probably already require people with older systems to use trimmed versions.

I can agree with that. Given how many new stuff besides lands you have put in the game, I would play it even if it had just the HRE. (hmm, that sounds like a good mod idea to me...)
