OK mistery resolved they are into the Iberian Portraits and "italiangfx" does not exists it is for this that in "The Empire of Gods" they appeared so beautiful while now are horrendous (it is not only the skin tone they appear more ugly really!) so I was using the Occitan Portraits for all this time ? Why they seems more Italians that the Paradox Italians?
So Portrait are not moddable? But no new ones can be created too? One time I had seen them in this forum but now it is some time that I don't see anything on this front... IMHO I say this again the "southern" portrait shall be NEVER used for Western European cultures (well I'm not sure what culture merits this insulting portrait... maybe can be used in the Middle Earth Project for Orchish characters)?
The darker skin of the southern portraits is supposed to represent the effects of indoor-lighting. If you have a problem with the portraits you should probably contact crackdtoothgrin, since it was he who made them.

It is the second time that the Italians are represented as blacks before with the Mediterranean portraits and now with this so called "Iberian" portraits IMHO this cannot be a case! Why only Italians and Iberians should have indoor portraits in any case?
That is the reason whether you like it or not.

1 It was a mistake and Crackd would change it if Paradox would says so. On the forum he gives explanations how to do it yourself.
2 Actually Crackd was hired for 'Iberian' portraits. So he did Iberian portraits. He never knowed that they should used for Italians too.

Will you carry over the clothing for portraits you used in WotR that were a little closer to the time period than the standard CK2 clothing? I think it was mostly clothing repurposed from those clothing used by people in a republic.

In the WotR version I used new clothes with republic headgear. I already have the females clothes added in, but I was never happy with a lot of the male clothes. A major portrait overhaul is planned where each region will have its own clothes as the major differentiation.

Do you have the chance to try my save game? The poor Queen of Naples risks to have her titles usurped without reason :p
I suppose too that if in the map there are others landed female I could usurp their titles too (and probably IA could do this too if they have a landed wife) but I was more concentrated in Italy for obvious reasons.

Another thing you could notice in the save game is that the Kingdom of Naples conquered Rome from the Pope what CB would he have used? Resource take over? I don't think it should be enabled for Rome if it is controlled by the Pope... the only way a Catholic could conquer Rome from the Pope IMHO is if he is:
  1. Roman Emperor (if you want to add this title)
  2. Holy Roman Emperor
  3. King of Italy
What do you think?

Going to test it today.

I am going to make it hard for people to declare war for Rome. And add the restore papacy to Rome CB.

Does "Anglo-Irish" refer to a melting pot culture of English+Irish or does it refer to the Norman families?

If it's the latter, "Norman Irish" (Hiberno-Normans in academia) would be a preferable term, as the Norman families assimilated into Irish culture and didn't consider themselves to have an "English" (Anglo) identity (or at least as we would think of it). In fact the term "More Irish than the Irish themselves" is used to describe their integration.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/More_Irish_than_the_Irish_themselves
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiberno-Normans

And before someone points this out, the Normans were referred to in Irish as "the Old English", but this is more to do with the fairly hamfisted way the Irish language denotes other cultures. When the Vikings came to Ireland, and later also assimilated, they were the "White/Bright/Blonde/Foreign Irish" (Fine Gall, Gall-Ghaeil). For some reason in Gaelige there's not a lot of words for foreigners. Anyway, for a time the Normans even referred to themselves as "The Franks of Ireland". They were more loyal to a "Norman" identity than an English one.

if it's the former and that's the term for some melting pot people in English controlled Leinster, that's fine.

Ireland of that era held the Normans families were distinct from English settlers or Irish that integrated to the English authority in Ireland. The Normans, as the Norse-Gaels before them, were accepted into the Gaelic culture (a big factor being they spoke the Gaelic language and wore Irish attire), while the Anglo-Irish didn't go by Irish custom or langauge and thus were rejected.
