Postponing the decision hadn't helped. Slinky wasn't any closer to his decision. In desperation he went online and checked for any news. He was surprised to see that the others had rekindled their emnity. Damaging reports had been spread around like corn on a field. Some even targeted Slinky, saying that he was too long winded and his abundant use of words hid the fact that he had nothing to tell. Slowly Slinky began to realise that it might be more difficult to get government funding than he initially thought.
All of this was getting in the way of the thing Slinky loved to do most, working on his inventions. All this political stuff was not what he wanted to do. Struggling through the information it seemed that there were three likely candidates to be dismissed. He could be the decisive factor on the removal of one of his competitors. Which one? Slinky was done with the issue. He wasn't getting any closer to a solution. He just let it be decided randomly. He flipped a coin and unfortunately for Professor Wernstrom, it landed tails.
