The Benevolent Order of Santa Claus realized that the eldritch evils - the WereYak! - were amongst their secret conclave. However, the only sure means to identify WereYaks without Santa's Sure Fire Elven Reindeer Antlers was to inspect the bodies of the dead...

And thus, two were chosen!

Unfortunately, both were committed members of Santa's cause...

Snoopdogg and Falc were lynched!

The WereYaks, were, unfortunately, somewhere else.... RIGHT BEHIND Kingepyon!!!

Really? Was I that subtle and obtuse?

Okay, so I was referencing "Do not go gentle into that good night" i.e. I didn't want to die. I know this is not a noble or widely understood sentiment, so I will gladly fall on the sword of our collective responsibility to die at the hands of random.org

As for the timing, luckily for me this game's deadline is 1.5 hours after I wake up in the morning.

Now that the handy colored votecount is completed... WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED HERE? I had a funny feeling as I was showering this morning that WW needed me, and look what happened... Day 1 is the worst day to have a tie, because there's no information to go on, whereas later in the game you can at least make educated guesses. Plus, statistically it's 12:4 good:bad meaning 25% chance of randomly selecting a wolf. Going for it on Day 4, with no dead wolves, you've got information, but also statistically it's 6:4 so a 40% chance of picking a wolf randomly. Of course the last day is the worst day to attempt a tie because the wolves can break it in their favor, but it's the best day to actually have one occur. Not to mention that if we now have an IJL versus JL situation and we resolve it through a tie it brings parity closer (I do this so often I think I ought to change my name from Vainglory to ParityWatch...). This was a disaster.

Looking for culprits, Bagricula is the one who moved his vote onto Falc when it was 2-3-4 Bag, Falc, Snoop. He could have put Snoop out of reach, but created a tie instead! Bagricula, go right to the top of the suspects list. Secondly, Reis was also about after this tie was made, asked for a votecount, but failed to do anything to rectify this situation. Snoopdogg might have seen what was happening, but couldn't do anything to save himself (except scream for help...).

I'm tempted to see whether anyone in this game was posting elsewhere during the time of this tie...

Ah, my mistake then. Should have pushed snoop forward. I thought I was in a 3-way tie with Falc and snoop.

C'est la vie. I am resigned to being lynch today. Got a trans-Pacific flight on Friday.

Coherence maybe? If I had done anything, you would point out what I previously said and accuse me of incoherence. I must recognize that I missed the deadline, though, got caught up watching TV. Feel free to check if I was posting, although it won't help you.

Now, Bagricula, well, he was in the running so he had the self-preservation excuse. I must give this some thought, before committing my heavier-than-usual vote.

@ Boris : Read what I said on day 1. If you still want to lynch me then, go ahead and try.

I wondered if your initial statement meant "do not shift your vote under any circumstances". I interpreted it more liberally to mean "Let's not switch targets capriciously". Hence I'd not have thought it inconsistent to prevent a disastrous tie.

How was I supposed to know it would be disastrous? AFAIK there could be wolves in there. Why would I save them?

Not that having one more villager die fits my definition of disastrous, by the way...

On that basis we might as well arrange everyone to vote for themselves on Day 1 in a megatie. There are sure to be wolves in them - why save them?

From here on out we cannot use a tie productively: if we get it wrong, parity comes closer. If we get 1 wolf, we reach parity on the same day anyway. I consider that fairly disastrous, because we have 4 days and the ability to use 1 tie to even the odds. Now we've got 4 days and no tie. Disastrous might be the wrong word, but stupid, pointless, unhelpful, and damaging are suitable adjectives. I suppose if it exposes a wolf, it's helpful, but if it was just village stupidity, we're in serious trouble.

We can use ties. We just need to ensure they are made of wolves, and that task is made more difficult when each and every villager takes into his own hands to save someone, while having no data on said someone that makes him less likely a wolf than another guy.

vote marty

That new candidate thing, regardless of the outcome, seems like a wolf ploy to me.
