When you approached us, I warned the rest of the pack not to respond to you because I was sure this was a JL plot. If you remember, I persistently asked you for an explanation as to why you were doing what you were doing. I kept thinking that you were a JL envoy with the sole intent of getting us to out ourselves. I figured you had taken steps to deceive us into doing that and at the last minute you'd switch back to one of the wolves and the village would end up winning because the other two outed themselves with that last minute snipe. Madchemist and I agreed that this, even if it was a trap, was our last chance at winning. We were hoping that, if this was a JL plot, you'd somehow screw it up and snipe too late.

I know, but just out of curiosity, wasn't it clear that we already knew who the remaining wolves were and so didn't need to draw them out? I'm sure I indicated that somehow.

Care to explain the wrong timing?

We did not imagine you to be doing what you were doing because what you were doing was unimaginable.
Sure. Basically, you never want to put anybody too far out into the lead, as it lessens the amount of information that can be obtained from the vote (if 6 people vote the same way, it's hard to tell them apart) because it gives a large crowd for wolves to hide in. If everybody seems willing to vote for a particular player, that probably means you've hit a villager. Close votes make it more likely that a wolf is in actual danger, and force people to make choices which can implicate them or clear them after players' true roles are discovered.
Thank the two of you. I guess I will learn, with time. It's like madchemist said. RP reason is good enough for day one (heck, I picked Wagonlitz due to him being Comrade Sta.... Napoleon himself) but you didn't simply vote him, you put him into 2-vote lead. There's nothing wrong in 2-vote lead if you have good enough reason for it. RP isn't one of them, though...
Actually, I don't think it was really that bad. Putting somebody two votes up with three players left to vote? If somebody wants to make it close it would be simple to do so.Sure. I know, hence this addendum:Marty has a point. However, since they both are new players I thought it prudent to warn against such behaviour since it's better to understand where the aversion to bandwagoning comes from before they can attempt to deviate from the trodden path. On the other hand it's not that great thing to say "non-voters will fix it" since the assumption would be that rest would make the voting ok. Taken into extreme you could have, say, 6 votes on one person and then say "look, 10 haven't voted yet, it's not bandwagon".![]()
Anyone who does otherwise is a fool. I remember when they had different skins for different forums. That Victoria maroon properly burned my eyes.ah, but you assume that everyone used the "Deep Blue Edited" skin
Oh, I understand that, and If Wagon still had five or six votes on him (he now has three), I probably would have switched my vote onto, say, Snoopdogg. As it is, we have a three way TIE (which I fully expect will be broken), and most of these votes are throw away anyway. It's good that you're pointing out the potential negative connotation that bandwagoning can have to new players, but on day one this debate serves little other purpose.Marty has a point.
