I'm really, really, sorry for not voting guys. I don't know why, but with the duress of the Big Game and being in town with my girlfriend today I just couldn't find the time to vote/forgot about the game until now. Again, apologies, esemesas, hopefully it shouldn't have too great an impact on the game. This is especially annoying as I really want to play Lite again soon.

What are you going to do, call me a backwards hick who gets drunk too often and lives in kangaroo country? Sticks and stones.

More importantly that's all true.

Two out of three of those could be easily applied to me. However, I don't believe we have kangaroos in Ireland. But since you're continuing on my role, I think we should set aside the superficial lack of kangaroos and focus on our mutual drunkenness. Good luck.

How the hell did we get a wolf with first lynching? Suits me just fine though. Now to see who had tried to direct attention away from Xeno. For now,

He was already suspiciously tunnel visioned on Najs, and he seemed too vocal defending Xeno.

Also, what did Kingepyon do to deserve a day one hunt? Care to explain, wolves?

This is WW. It isn't meant to be fair. That said, it looks like our wolf pack has no compunction against hunting newcomers early. Randakar looks cleared as hell (unless Najs is also a wolf), I wonder why wasn't he hunted... perhaps our wolves weren't here at the deadline... or randakar just did a brutal sellout and a hunt on a newcomer, effectively selling his soul to the WW Devil? :D

Still, I'm more intrigued with Rysz. I put forth his name to a lynch, and "provoked" a quick wagon of votes on Najs. This was before Xeno was run up. This deserves investigation...

Bad idea. Tamius has tunnel vision, we've seen that in Big already. What saves him here is how xeno stuck to him and his theory immediately, would two wolves really do that? I think Xenpo exploited Tamius ruthlessly as a cover and excuse.

And the answer to your first question would be that you weren't there to save him, am I right?

I am (once again) expecting to change vote, this is more or less a placeholder on someone until I have a thorough look. I agree that it would be most strange for wolf tamius to accuse someone, and wolf Xeno to back him up. But what if it were wolf Xeno accusing, and newbie wolf tamius backing up? I could see that happening, but I'd have to check circumstances to see who started it. Which I still haven't had the chance to do.

Also, don't be so quick to clear randakar. Wasn't he a late switch to Xeno, after trying to redirect the vote from Najs to Athalcor, and then realising it was too late? I have some things I need to check about Xeno and randakar.

And as for not being there to save him, you'll find out when I get hunted.

God that's one of the most funny GM screwups in ages..

Hunted second? Well that's boring.

I have no idea why you were hunted either. Weren't you quite new?

How the hell did we get a wolf with first lynching?

A good dose of luck and some villagers who were unwilling to take the apparent suspect list at face value, I reckon. :p

Suits me just fine though.

.. you mean "I can work with that even though I lost a packmate", don't you?

Now to see who had tried to direct attention away from Xeno.

Was there even time for such a thing? Xeno wasn't really in danger until I tied him with Najs and Athalcor ..

For now,

Vote tamius23

He was already suspiciously tunnel visioned on Najs, and he seemed too vocal defending Xeno.

I really need to read back on that bit of the thread it seems.

If Najs is a wolf then what does Xeno's snipe on Najs instead of Athalcor when he was tied with both of them mean?
Unless Athalcor is -also- a wolf Najs is the least likely wolf suspect in the game I'd say.

Still, I'm more intrigued with Rysz. I put forth his name to a lynch, and "provoked" a quick wagon of votes on Najs. This was before Xeno was run up. This deserves investigation...

That's my fault, I think. But feel free to vote him anyway. :p

Yep, I definitely need to reread. Good stuff.

So you're noticing that too, eh?

So regarding Xeno/tamius interaction: tamius was first to go after Najs, for quite a few posts. It settled down a little, then Xeno went after Najs for a seperate comment (page 8). tamius immediately pounced, saying he'd been saying that all along. But they didn't spend long attacking together, with Xeno never referencing tamius, and when voting started tamius went after Najs but Xeno went for hebelecan with no explanation.

Now I wouldn't expect that from two experienced wolves. But one new and one old? It's almost like Xeno tried to disengage, without doing it too quietly. Of course, he may have also been after tamius.

Interestingly, reis voted for Athalcor the moment he voted Xeno. You'll notice the post was edited. I happened to see it before the edit, and the "reasoned" reason for going for Athalcor wasn't nearly as well developed, and it's still not water tight. That edited reason managed to shift the focus off Xeno for a while. I'll also note in passing that Randakar completely ignored the Athalcor vote for Xeno. It was a random vote with little to say, but he did find something to say about everything else...

Reis then unvotes Athalcor. Of course, this could be completely harmless, but he's already succeeded in distracting the vote from Xeno - he doesn't have to take out Athalcor to do this. Reis and Randakar manage to keep the focus on meta-gaming for the next two pages, until asking for a vote count where the two votes on Xeno are less conspicuous and less likely to be extended. Then the earthquake causes further distractions, but I think I can be excused for that (it was upgraded to a 5.4 and shallower, 8km exactly as I guessed if you're interested).

More small talk, masking where I (and Adamus) wondered who started the meta-reasoning vote. Then Hebelecan (correctly) says we need another option. And votes Xeno. tamius, who previously had been an anti-Najs maniac, suddenly has an interest in not voting Xeno. Rysz does what any old hand in any role would do, and questions both. tamius continues to go after hebelecan, accusing him of making a tie, when he knows from big why one would do that. When Rysz corrects him, he shifts back to picking on athalcor, as if the wolf pack had discussed that as a shield for xeno and tamius took to it a little too eagerly. Interestingly, none of the people who proposed Athalcor as suspicious (mainly reis and tamius) followed through with keepiing a vote on him. As if they wanted to be blameless if he was voted off and shown to be innocent.

Then Randakar comes along again. He's a good operator, he acknowledges any suspicious activities he has been in. And compliments the people picking up on it. Just as I would (and have) as a villager. He then goes on to say that Athalcor is still a good target, and votes... Najs. reis joins in, which to be fair does him credit, but he appears to think it's the end and he gets to pick between Najs and Athalcor. Why not keep the "suspicious" Athalcor, and get rid of Najs while you're at it?

Randakar then switches to Rysz, thinking it will make a tie. This is a good enough idea, so I won't call it making himself look good. But it is still putting Najs and Athalcor up, without being implicated. reis says he has bad feelings, and proposes switching to tamius - who I'd already pulled out of to give the new guy leniency. Najs agrees. reis votes him anyway, putting him at risk, but Randakar shoots him down. Pre-prepared bickering?

Najs and Athalcor are now tied, and reis pulls out of tamius leaving him safe. Then randakar goes from a third party to Xeno, who hadn't ha any attention in pages. Maybe trying to pre-empt and take the pressure off, like had happened to tamius? Xeno then puts the attention back to Najs, understandably trying to save himself.

Then Jamie votes Xeno, deciding to trust Najs. Najs also goes that way, and votes Xeno too. At the exact same time, randakar shifts to Athalcor, since Najs defended himself pretty well. reis questions the voting on Xeno, although mildly. Two minutes to deadline, and with Xeno gone already randakar shifts back. At deadline, and reis decides to acknowledge Najs is innocence - after it would have done any good. randakar is a little too obvious saying he doesn't kow what Xeno is, and questions the swing. While simultaneously saying he's responsibile, when his vote was late and didn't matter. reis agrees about the rapid swing.

And there we have it. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense! I give you the (remaining) pack: randakar, reis and tamius. Along with Xeno, this also gives the mix of experience you'd expect. J'accuse.

This post was brought to you by the letter paranoia, and the number tinfoil hat.

Now that I've painted a target on my head, I might add that 2100 GMT deadline is 9am here, and it would be quite reasonable to expect me not to be on between 2am and the evening due to sleep and work. Of course, my former pack mates can attest that I know this can be used as a convenient excuse.

Yep, first game is the Paradox star league, this was my second. I guess someone had a problem with me voting for Capt. Kiwi without reason lol

First off, careful what you say if it could affect the game. Especially when I've just painted a massive target on my own head for a lynching.

Second, I'd noticed that too. I was hoping to wait to see who would bring it up, because the only reason I could see for hunting you was to pin it on me as meta (especially if the reis-randakar-tamius pack uses the same strategy ;)).

No one here really knows my play style yet, but it never involves vengeance hunting like that. It draws too much attention, for one thing. Hearth can attest from our PMs while he was getting lynched in big that I never advocate holding grudges.

Unless they're mock-serious and very public, like me and drxav.

First of all: I applaud Capt. Kiwi for the enthusiasm and thinking he puts into this game. If all new players were like that, we old veterans are quickly outplayed.

I will have to think further about whether his conclusion is valid or not.

This deserves investigation...

vote Rysz

Randakar is certainly cunning enough to pull off grand schemes, but he is not one to include a sellout in that scheme. That is not to say he would never do a sellout, but certainly not a planned one.

I hate it when not the suspicious acting person gets votes, but the one who set the suspicious action off. If you think the wolves put a quick wagon of votes (not that a good wolf pack would do that anyway) on someone else to save a suspected packmate. Then vote bandwagonning wolves, and not the perhaps (in this case, assured) innocent that is only passively a part of it.

Also, by announcing it, do you really think wolves would again (especially since the first time was already unlikely enough) do such a thing?
