Genius. I propose we elect this state as King.

I know that; doesn't change that the imperial system---of which what I quoted is part---is completely illogical.Wagon, this is based off the Lord of the Rings, not the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter.
I agree on it being charming and inefficient. But not that it is logical. How is it logical? It's perfectly logical, and most charming too. What it isn't is efficient![]()

The future post issue is not the cause rather another symptom of the same cause. The fix should solve that issue as well.
Both were part of the same system. Also you could make the same illogical sequence with e.g. the imperial length units; I just knew the coin sequence was posted by Peter Ebbesen a while back so it was easier to use.I think your real issue is that you're equating imperial with non-decimalized currency.
Good news!

The imperial system didn't originate in the US, but in Britain. Just because you were reasonable and adopt a decimalised system when declaring independence doesn't mean the old pound system isn't part of the imperial system. Not necessarily. The dollar has always been decimalized, but we've also always used miles.

@EUROO7 that picture is not anatomically correct. Camels do not have hands.
He did indeed vote Sauron. Look up the page. He first voted MC and then later in a new post voted Sauron.Huh. He must have edited his post, then, as I distinctly recall him voting Sauron. Ah well.
GM! STOP MISSPELLING MY NAME! Gosh, do I look Bhutanese to you?

Not if you're sitting on a horse.
Or a motorcycle, perhaps.
Maybe even a wheelchair.

Come to think of it the Hobbits were partly democratic. The Tooks held the title of Thain and the Brandybucks were the Masters of Buckland, but the Mayor of Michel Delving was elected.

Hobbit government consisting of what? The patrol that found missing livestock, the post office, and a Mathom House?
Wasn't the Master of Buckland hereditary?

It is much more logical and easier to use. Here is an example of how convoluted the imperial system can be; good for the British they decimalised.
"Two Farthings = One Ha'penny. Two Ha'penny = One Penny. Three Pennies = A Thrupenny Bit. Two Thrupences = A Sixpence. Two Sixpence = One Shilling, or Bob. Two Bob = A Florin. One Florin and One Sixpence = Half a Crown. Four Half Crowns = Ten Bob Note. Two Ten Bob Note = One Pound (or 240 pennies). One Pound and One Shilling = One Guinea.
The British resisted decimalized currency for a long time because they thought it was too complicated."
Neither of what you mentioned is how democracy works.
Wheelchair swordfighting... That seems like it should really be a thing, for some reason.![]()
