Would it not be exceedingly idiotic to fail to snipe in order to narrow the gap between a packmate and a villager, and then make a show of how it's totally justified?

Not to mention that you were really defensive about me saying that you wanted to kill Hazbot. Either you're an unlucky villager or a wolf who's deliberately playing the idiot role, and I'm inclined towards the former at this point.

That's right.

I appreciate your confidence in my wolf skills. I would also remind you that, seeing as Ike turned out to be a villager, switching away from him yesterday makes even less sense for me as a wolf.

Eh, falling asleep at 20.00 ain't exactly helping me in this game. Anyways, let's look again a bit what happened (and this is not very coherent necessarily; it's just as much trying to clear my thoughts as it's to present any kind of analysis for wider audience).

Hazbot mentioned:

Keep an eye on this guy - this vote put Jackson back into contention, plus it had no reasoning behind it.

Gen. Marshall lobbies for Najs death. At this point Hazbot is nonentity, really, and then he goes and puts Ike into 4-2 lead.

I don't like the way Ike is refusing to defend himself properly.

VOTE IKE

TBut I do have to apologize, I confused you with Skob. Something about the names.

Hmm... should I be honoured, angry or amused?

Here is what brought Hazbot up as viable candidate.

Unfortunately I have to leave now, probably won't be back for deadline.

Unvote Najs
Vote Hazbot

For his lazy/easy vote.

Second vote for Hazbot; 3 on Ike, 2 on Spockyt & Audren plus plenty single vote candidates. This opened the sluice gates and more followed fast.

Actually, you're right.

UNVOTE AUDREN
VOTE HAZBOT

I like Hazbot as a candidate.

Vote Hazbot

So you are not going to make a pre deadline count...

UNVOTE AUDREN
VOTE HAZBOT

Since he could be a wolf

Which puts Hazbot quickly into 5-3 lead.

This wakes Hazbot and he lashes at Ike. Since he didn't exactly post much before this I think it deserves to be quoted in full:

And how exactly does the fact that my vote is lazy diminish the apparent fact that Ike is refusing to even provide evasive answers for a basic line of questioning?

This kind of voting patterns seems absurd to me, someone is under suspicion, they are questioned about it, and refuse an answer, and somehow, this makes the person who votes for them suspicious?

Did you leave your heads hanging off of your hat racks? At best you're losing track of an obviously suspicious target in favour of someone who made the simple mistake of taking their obvious and suspicious nature for granted and at worst you're falling pray to a diversion from someone who is obviously a wolf and clearly looking to find any excuse to run up somebody else.

Do I even have to defend myself really? If Ike can refuse to do so and is apparently getting away with it scot free, why should I have to justify voting for an obvious candidate?

The vote for the lazy voter is in the end, just as lazy, in the fact in this case, even more so because we're giving up an actual case in favour of some kind of memetic, brainless, gut response that results from playing and not understanding, something which I see has infected the best of us too.

Regardless, I stand by my vote, refusing to defend yourself makes me think you're guilty, and that's only considered a lazy vote because it's basic logic 101, which is, as I found out now, apparently forbidden for no discernible reason other than there's now an apparent trend of coming up with the best asinine reasons to vote for someone, rather than lynching someone who is begging to be lynched.

Now, I *assume* he's talking about Ike here but just in case I want to hear if that's what others think, too - he ain't referring to Ike's previous vote on Audren, right?

deathbywombat switches to new candidate, Najs, which puts Hazbot into even bigger lead.

Does this read to anyone else like: "Ike is actually not a wolf, and I know that already, so if/when we lynch Ike I have an excuse/alibi prepared for voting him"? "Information" votes, I find, are rarely conducive to actually finding wolves.

Unvote Emperor Ike
Vote Najs

Is he probing for a new case here or has the vote fizzled on Ike and another candidate is needed to combat the threat of Hazbot lynch?

In any case so many votes on Hazbot is causing some concern. Whether it's just the votes themselves on a row or inside info about packmate is anybodys guess.

I'm mildly concerned about the 4 straight votes on Hazbot, and I think that Najs has been the most reasonable player this entire game, besides Skobie, based on the comments he's made.

Unvote Hazbot
Vote Wagon

Hazbot -4- Skobelev, Marshall, Wagonlitz, Ike,
Ike -2- Najs, Hazbot,
Spockyt -2- Tamius, Marty,
Wagon -2- Audren, Euro,
Euro -1- Rovsea,
Rovsea -1- Aedan,
Tamius -1- Spockyt,
Najs -1- Wombat,

In the meantime Audren makes another jab at Wagonlitz and defends Ike a bit. Then Audren questions why Euro moves from Hazbot to Wagonlitz which gets rather accurate answer:

He jumped on Hazbot with no explanation other than he "liked" Hazbot as a candidate.

Ah, but you put him four votes up, when his vote on Ike didn't merit such a bandwagon. You could argue here that I should be voting Ike, but I've done that already, and the well there is dry, trust me.

Wagon made the vote 4-3, hardly a bandwagon, though those votes did accumulate fairly quickly.

...but then comes Spockyt to put another vote on Hazbot.

I like the cases on both Hazbot and Ike. I prefer the case on Ike, but I don't want to cause a tie, so I will

Vote Hazbot.

Fair enough, it's 30 minutes to deadline and Hazbot is in big lead. Sounds reasonable, right? However, it could also be construed that here's attempt to drive the bandwagon up to scare voters to switch. Be the motive for the vote as it may, it does cause quite expected reaction.

There is no reason for Hazbot to be leading so decisively. There is reason, however, to push Spockyt for piling on like this. Much as it pains me to move away from Wagon,

UNVOTE WAGON
VOTE SPOCKYT

Is this the save attempt or just villager seeing pretty big wagon on a roll?

Spock strikes me as a villager. Return to Wagon that we may end him.

The silence leading up to this also leads me to believe that wolves are content with this.
I hate statements like this with a fiery passion. 1) Assuming a ruthless pack, the wolves may not care; in fact, some might even choose to pile on if Hazbot is indeed a wolf to gain credibility. 2) What is to prevent you from being a wolf trying to change the situation in favor of a packmate?

Marshall thinks deathbywombat has put throwaway on packmate for alibi and switches acccordingly.

Whoa, Hazbot got way too many votes there from people I don't entirely trust.

Unvote Hazbot
Vote Najs

Let's punish wombat's throwaway.

Audren twitches a lot and tries to find alternative candidate.

UNVOTE SPOCKY
VOTE WAGON

My brain says no, but my heart says yes.

Euro, after making Audren switch to Wagonlitz, now happily moves on to Najs.

Interesting.

Unvote Wagon
Vote Najs

My brain says you're trying to get Hazbot killed.

Eh? Brainfart or something? Looks like Audren is pretty hard looking for anybody other than Hazbot lynched.

I do remember being intrigued by wombat's questioning of Najs. I want to test this further.

UNVOTE WAGON
VOTE NAJS

But the big question is if he'd go that far to save packmate?

Hang on - Audren ain't alone in wanting to save Hazbot!

He's gonna get lynched though. Najs is around and ready to vote Hazbot, while Hazbot is nowhere to be seen. Shame.

In the name of tie prevention Najs goes to the block:

Unvote Hazbot
Vote Najs

Rovsea has more or less sat on the sidelines but now he butts in and considers Najs less good lynch.

Well, I still don't consider Najs a particularly good lynch, to be honest.

which prompts reaction

So you throw your vote away.

that leads to Hazbot getting closer to lynch again (5-4)

Unvote EUROO7, Vote Hazbot

Euro makes it tie between Najs and Hazbot

Unvote Najs
Vote Ike

...and Wagonlitz switches again to try to prevent tie.

And of course once deadline has passed we have this oddity:

UNVOTE NAJS
VOTE IKE

-----

Obviously the connection between Ike and Audren wasn't there so I was wrong on that. However, now it seems (again, almost too obviously) Audren tried very hard to have anybody but Hazbot lynched yesterday so he seems prime candidate (and is up already). Again, seems almost too obvious, though.

Gen. Marshall made crucial vote to bring Hazbot into race. Later, however, he abandoned that vote and almost party of lynching Najs the unknown instead of Hazbot the wolf. Not sure what to think of his comments as some of them read almost like he's trying to look like he's doing no such thing.

Euro was manoeuvring quite a lot again but his unvote of Najs was what killed Hazbot so that was good.

Spocky made bandwagonish vote on Hazbot and never twitched away from him. Not entirely sure how to read that but for now let's assume he did it in good faith (as otherwise he'd have plenty of opportunity to switch off & save Hazbot if it was meant as alibi vote).

I'm again unsure how to read deathbywombat. He was first on Emperor Ike, then switched to Najs. He hasn't made *that* much analysis either so I hope he'll open up a bit more.

And that leaves us with some who didn't vote Hazbot and have kept quiet. Marty & Tamius are the foremost among them. Aedan had throwaway and has kept quiet but for now he's already sitting on Audren so he has made some contribution, at least.

I'll need more tea before voting but that's some thoughts for now.

Not true, on either count. I made a very early vote on Rovsea, and backed it up with a case. That I wasn't on for the rest of the day and no one else decided to follow me does not make my vote a throwaway. And I haven't voted Audren because, as I said earlier and as you say here, Audren's almost too suspicious. He has such a bad record, you'd have to think he'd be better if he was an actual wolf. For that reason I have yet to place a vote today.

Eh.. that's what I get from waking up at 3 AM and coming to see forums. Right, it was Euro who voted Audren, not you. And yeah, I'll give you that your vote on Rovsea wasn't throwaway. Though would have been nice if you'd chimed in later as effectively you just sat yesterday on the sidelines without your vote impacting anything. (and yes, I was mostly absent on the important bits too)
